Perhaps another day? I phoned both, Gatineau (transferred there) and Princeton and after so many transfers and waits, the phone goes dead. Yikes.
I'm trying to make peach jam, lol and not getting far.

eta: I left a link with the Princeton dept handling the case and the link includes the composite sketch.

Quote
Witnesses who found 18-year-old Valerie's burning body in the woods called the scene horrible.

Police are calling it Gatineau's first homicide of 2011.

The smell of smoke alerted a group of four teens to the horrific scene as they walked along a trail smoking cigarettes Tuesday afternoon.

At first they thought it was from an overnight bonfire, but instead they found Valerie, lying face-down in the dirt, her clothes charred, her corpse still aflame.

"At first we didn't think it was real, thought it was a simulation from the school but it was a girl and there was still fire on her. She was in real bad shape," Domaneck Arsenault, 18, an Algonquin College student, told QMI Agency.

"Her clothes were melted on her" and her pants were "off a little," he added

Josianne Tardif, 17, said the young woman was covered in blood, her legs twisted and wrists badly bruised. She described the smell as burning plastic.

"Honestly, it was horrible," she said.

Arsenault said it was likely they came across the scene not long after the killer had left.

"Maybe we walked by him," Arsenault said.

The man who was seen scratched up, at a resort near where Vanessa was found, has been located and he is not a suspect according to police.

WORCESTER -- Little is known about the murderer of Vanessa Marcotte, the 27-year-old New York resident who was abducted, killed and burned earlier this month after going for a jog while visiting family in Princeton.

David Procopio, a State Police spokesman, said they department has received more than 900 tips, but have so far released scant details about Marcotte's murder.

At a press conference in Princeton held on Aug. 11, police said they are looking for a male who was scratched, scraped and bruised by Marcotte during the attack, and are certain the attack occurred between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 7.

Vanessa Marcotte's killer was a man, attacker suffered injuries during struggle: Worcester DA (Video)
Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr. gave new details on the killing of jogger Vanessa Marcotte Thursday afternoon.

This time last week, police had received 590 tips from the public, and a video was turned in showing a man with scrapes and bruises visiting a resort in the Wachusett Mountains, six miles from where Marcotte's body was found. But the man in the video turned out to be unrelated to the crime, and there have still been no major breakthroughs released since that press conference.

"We're following up on every tip. We don't want people to think their tip is getting lost in this huge wave of information... Even if it is a small piece of information, it could be a small piece of something bigger," Procopio said.

The steady flow of tips is helping the Fusion Center, a state police intelligence clearinghouse, put together the hundreds small puzzle pieces that make up these big investigations.

Regardless of the information in the tip, the Fusion Center inputs a separate alert that recorded in a case management software. Supervisors review each tip, assign a weight to it and then disseminate those tips to detectives based on their priority.

What happened to Vanessa Marcotte? 5 things we know so far
Here's a look at what we do know about the Marcotte homicide as of Wednesday morning.

Procopio said the public's response to assist police in this case has been impressive.

"It speaks to the fact that the details of the crime are disturbing and horrifying. The public is obviously disturbed and horrified by those details and people want to help out," Procopio said.

Police are urging the public to continue to call and send tips to the anonymous tip line (508) 453-7589.
