EDMONTON/630 CHED - R.C.M.P. in Northern Alberta hope you can help them put the wraps on an assault investigation, from the weekend.
Police in Fort McMurray say, on Sunday morning, they responded to a local motel where they found a found a woman in rough shape ... with a story to tell.

She says a man confined, assaulted and threatened her before taking off from the motel room.

She was taken to hospital with undisclosed injures.

Police have now issued a warrant for the arrest of Ivan Michael Pearce.

They believe the 34-year-old Pearce lives in Fort Mac, but has no "fixed address".

They add that he might have connections in the town of Lethbridge.

Police want to charge the man with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, forcible confinement and uttering death threats.

(NOTE: R.C.M.P. say this photograph is not current and Pearce is now believed to have a shaved head. - ccg)
