BEAUSOLIEL FIRST NATION/CHRISTIAN ISLAND  - The skeletal remains found in an isolated area on the Beausoleil First Nation on Christian Island could possibly be that of an Owen Sound man who has been missing since November 2013 when his small airplane crashed into Georgian Bay near Wasaga Beach. Upon further investigation of the debris, the resident found partial adult human skeletal remains.

Can human remains wash up that far away from Wasaga Beach?

Thoughts and prayers to Mr. Burnside's family and friends. They have positively identified pilot Oscar Burnside as the person discovered on April 30 at Big Sand Bay, Christian Island.

Oscar Burnside's remains were found on Christian Island on April 30, 2014. He was positively identified a short time later. Human remains found on Christian Island on May 15, 2014 have now been identified as Penny Warne. Penny had been missing for five years. I'm not sure how close in proximity these two missing people were found. I've seen the area where Mr. Burnside was found, described as being "a remote area of Christian Island". I'm curious as to whether the continued search of the area for plane wreckage, etc., could be what eventually lead to Penny Warne being found.
