Based on the address for the store and the apartment building, I think Donna lived at (and perhaps the woman she babysat for did too) the "L-shaped" apartment building seen at the following google map link and the variety store was just across the driveway, to the south.

http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=88+oakville+ave,+london+ontario&sll=43.027408,-81.192141&sspn=0.002302,0.003433&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=88+Oakville+Ave,+London,+Middlesex+County,+Ontario+N5V+2S3&ll=43.027898,-81.19199&spn=0.004572,0.006866&t=h&z=17

No need for a ride there.

Some great coverage from the London Free Press on the family's fundraising and awareness efforts for Donna's case. Both a story and a video interview:

Gibbons..Why do you want to delete the composite sketch?  The OPP haven't pulled it. Nothing is confirmed about the suspect.

Having read the recent article in the LFP about the 37 year old cold case and the OPP's refusal to assist in an independent inquiry, why would anyone assist police?  Clearly this case wasn't properly investigated to begin with so why wouldn't the OPP hand over information if for no other reason than to get it off their books?  Reflects negatively  on them no matter how you look at it and I suppose that's the problem.  There are far too many cold cases in the London area and certainly some with similarities.  The various police forces don't share information even amongst themselves.  How does this help the community at large?  It doesn't and it's our tax dollars that pay them.  I'm mad as hell!

So everyone's aware what jensen's referring to, I also posted this in Karen Caughlin's thread on the board here:

The police are trained from the get-go to never say 'sorry', so I'm not surprised in the least they would refuse to admit mistakes or wrongdoing, or allow themselves to be seen as not doing their job. Infuriating.

Here's links to the articles below; I don't think the London Free Press actually printed these in the paper and are available only online. I'll post jpegs of a printed copy of each though in case the links disappear.

The picture has been rescanned and the clarity it produces is interesting. He looks much younger to me in the new release than in the old sketch. Reading some of the older cases unsolved in London (Jacqueline English, Jacqueline Dunleavy, Frankie Jensen and Robert Stayplton and seeing that no one was caught, the suspect(s) would be likely to stay in the city or at least the area. I wonder what any of the three boys that found Jacqueline Dunleavy looked like in 1983?

I believe one of them was deceased by that point. No doubt someone can come on and clarify.

Chickapey, do you have access to that picture? I could post it here as well.

I'll grab it off the site rkay. I found a link to one of the graves but the date of death was 1993. Not 100% sure it was him but all signs point to yes. There are no photos of the boys though

Remembering Donna Awcock and her family today, on the 28th anniversary of her death.  I'm hoping that the tireless and passionate effort by her sister Tammy, will bring some answers and justice for Donna.  Please consider joining Donna's face book page "Justice for Donna Jean Awcock".

Was at the cemetery yesterday to pay respects to Donna. Seeing the family's strength and determination is a great sight. The clouds allowed the sun to shine through, a yellow butterfly fluttered by and we were covered in a shower of tiny leaves. All lovely signs

Just finished reading the PROJECT ANGEL report in which Frankie Jensen is named among many others, including Donna Jean Awcock. I took the police sketch from the POI poster generated by LE in the Awcock investigation and compared it too a photo of a younger Shannon Murrin. interesting. I can't help but wonder where Mr. Murrin was living/travelling during late 60's and early 70's. Anyone?
