Alliston man charged with Internet luring

A 24-year-old Alliston man has been arrested and charged with Internet luring after a three-month investigation that started in the United States.

In April, the National Center for Missing and Exploited children (NCMEC) in the United States forwarded the OPP an Internet luring complaint about a suspect believed to be from Ontario.

In May, while that investigation was ongoing, the Nottawasaga OPP detachment received an Internet luring complaint. Police linked the two investigations and worked to identify the suspect.

Tuesday (July 17), members of the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit (Project "P"), OPP Technical Crime Unit and the Nottawasaga detachment arrested Kyle Andrew Crawley of Alliston. He was charged with four counts of Internet luring.

While executing a search warrant at an Alliston residence, police said they seized three computers containing evidence to support the charges.

Police are still investigating and are asking the public for help.

Online the accused used a variety of identities, including: KyleC, KyleAndrew, KyleCrawley1988 and KyleSmith.

Police are asking anyone with information that will help with the investigation to contact the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit at 705-330-324.

Crawley is currently in custody and will appear for a bail hearing Monday, July 23 at the Ontario court of Justice in Barrie.
