I'd say the 150 G possibly made some loose lips on this case. I am very happy that persons are in custody related to this young woman's death. Her family will at least be able to get some rest and relax for a while until this goes to court. Good police work, they have to be commended for getting persons in custody on this case. And I do hope that they get some success on the other cases they are working on. :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

If you go to the link at the end of this item, and read the "comments", one person raised a good point:

why are three older men assisting a 21 year old murderer in dumping a body? sounds kinda fishy...possibly a little coercion happened here, maybe? leads me to some extra questions

....and here is the accussed "live" arriving for court.... the write-up below this short film states he was on a crime spree around the time of the murder. http://thechronicleherald.ca/novascotia/410131-mcneil-back-in-court-jan-22-in-jessome-killing

You would never think to look at this young man, that he is faced with such serious charge/es;  it certainly makes me think how possible it is for anybody's child to be dragged onto the road to hell by the state of affairs around them.  I can't help but think this could be your son or mine... Laura could be your daughter or mine - our children seem to be more and more unlikely to escape the hell that envelops and targets our young people today.  I can't help but feel broken hearted about this whole thing.

This case is another example of spineless people and corruption keeping cold blooded killers on the street.  No surprise in Cape Breton!

Thomas Barrett of Glace Bay gets time served in Laura Jessome homicide case
Cape Breton Post

SYDNEY, N.S. ? Thomas Barrett, originally of Glace Bay, has been sentenced to five years in prison for being an accessory in the May 2012 death of Laura Jessome.

Given the amount of time Barrett has spent on remand, the sentence has already been served.
Justice Frank Edwards delivered the decision today after a joint recommendation from the Crown and the defence.
Barrett had previously pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact to manslaughter.
In court this morning, Barrett said he pleaded guilty ?to exactly what I done.?
Jessome?s family is not happy the charge was reduced, feeling no one is being held accountable for the murder.
The Crown said it had little option to reduce the charge because witnesses changed their stories and refused to testify.
Powerful victim impact statements were read this morning, including one from Jessome?s mother, Edna, who said that little body Barrett threw into a hockey bag and into the Mira River was her whole world.
A second accused, Morgan MacNeil, previously pleaded guilty to manslaughter in Jessome?s death and was sentenced to seven years in prison.
Barrett is already serving a life sentence in the 2006 death of Brett Elizabeth McKinnon.
More to come.
