Nilla- No, there hasn't, at least not that has been released. There's been nothing on the news since the initial discovery and confirmation they were human back in April.

When I heard of the discovery, my thoughts immediately went to Kim Amero, the length of time would fit, but I'm sure there's also many others I'm unaware of who've been missing for great lengths of time both from this area, as well as other parts of NB and who's to say the person isn't originally missing from NS? A fair distance to travel, but stranger things have happened.

Hopefully the person can be positively ID'd soon so that even if it's withheld from the media and general public, the family can lay them to rest and finally have some sort of closure or at least a better idea of what questions they still need to seek out answers to.

ETA a formal greeting: Hello all! Sorry to just jump right in here on you like I know what I'm doing :)

Hello,  I have an uncle who was living in Saint-John and disappeared in 1990. He has never been found. I am always wondering what happened to him and why his body has never been found. I am always hoping something would come up. Could this be him?

What is your uncle's name, klodete?

Was a search conducted for him at the time of his disappearance?

Of course this could be a person from out of province or from another country. Even though there are several missing from NB, this person may not be from there. Because he was found on a highway, this could have been a person hit by a car, it could be also foul play. It is strange that there has been no ID on this individual. :o :o :o :o :o :o

Or - it could be native bones from an old burial ground.  This has happened before.
They did say that these bones were there for a very long time. ???

At the time of the discovery, police did contact some family members in order to prepare them that the bones might be those of their missing loved one.

This has been such a long time ago now; however, I suppose these things do take a great deal of time.  There has been much speculation but so far nothing definite has been released.

RubyRose,
My uncle's name is Alban Robichaud. Our family is from north of New-Brunswick. I was very young when this happened. There has been an investigation at the time but nothing ever came up (as far as I know). My grandmother passed away two years ago still hoping he would return.

Thank you, klodete.  I do not remember hearing of Mr. Robichaud's case previously.  Do you think there may be a chance that he simply decided to leave on his own?

http://www.crimenb.ca/news/59/83/Bones-identified-as-Robert-Arseneau-of-Tremblay-NB-missing-since-2006/

Would these be the same remains GSAR posted about?

SAP those remains were located in a totally different section of the Province, so they would not be the same ones. There is an update on that post from October 2012.

:)

I guess this would be considered a homicide then. And there have never been any suspects named in this case.

Just a note, I had the pleasure of running into a lead officer on this a couple months ago.
It was rather intriguing to hear that this is still very much being investigated in an effort to determine who the remains belong to.
