We had a nasty storm last night, so I hope something didn't happen to her out in the storm, it was not a nice night.

I really hope she is safe.  I do find this a little amazing that the police have put a missing persons out on her already since she has only been missing less than twenty four hours?  Does any one else thing that is unusual as well? JMO

A 57 year old Collingwood woman reported missing yesterday has been found dead in the Thornbury area.

Foul play is not suspected.

Oddly, and probably unrelated I found this article stating in September a "Donna Marie Brown" who was 56 passed away in RI. They have similar facial features.  http://www.cranstononline.com/stories/Donna-Marie-Brown,62836?category_id=20&list_type=most_viewed&town_id=3&sub_type=stories

I am wondering how far Thornbury is from Collingwood any one can tell me please?  The sounds of things make it sound like suicide but wondering why the woman would leave her own home to do that?  Sorry this isnt sitting right with me for some reason could be just me as I am the same age.  What do the rest of the posters think?

Thornbury is a small town approximately 12 kilometres to the west of Collingwood.

It is not unusual for a person to leave their home and commit suicide.  We have a few on this site. I guess they do not want to be found at home by family members. Perhaps that is why the call came out within 24 hours, as the family would be very much concerned for her well being.
So very sad.

Eyeswideopen,

Of the recent cases on this forum, the women all left their homes to commit suicide.  Perhaps it is because they have children or loved ones at home.  I think the initial police report that was issued so quickly, and the statement that they were concerned with her well being was in response to her emotional state.  This is so heartbreaking all around.

I think thats the awnser right there . well one of too awnser's on why she left the home to end things if thats what happend .First this is my town well i don't own it lol just have lived here all my life and for the person who was looking where thornbury is from C'Wood . It's one road HWY 26 from C'Wood to T'bury and its like 15 minutes .The awnser i was speaking of about why leave the house I will bet that she remembered very clearly what is was like for her mom to have to live in that house after someone dies or committs suicide for one if there is blood or bodily fluids to clean up one can only imagine what that would be like so she prolly remembered that being for anyone that came in to thier home after it was allways a subject of debate it would hold a weird feeling living in it i would think..And 2nd I think its more about how they see themselves being found and they dont want anyone to have to go through the same feelings in a house as she and her mother did..

I'm new here.   Excellent points you have made regarding Donna Marie leaving her home. This could very well have been her reasoning.
