The nerve of him even to expect to be out on bail, while he goes through the appeal process for murder, is beyond my comprehension.

This law should be changed!! Of course the chances of him splitting, would be great.  He has 25 years to serve!!

I am glad that this judge had the wisdom to see this, and deny him bail, sadly some judges would probably have given it to him.

Murder is an extremely serious charge, and anyone charged with it, and found guilty of it, should never, ever, be allowed to go out "on bail", because they are appealing it.  How gross!!

They deserve their full day in court to prove their innocence,

He had it, and he was found guilty of Murder and sentenced to 25 years.

It is astonishing that he might have had a chance of bail, after being found guilty, and sentenced to 25 years , for the simple reason that he is  appealing it?

Why would our judicial system even consider it??  Even remotely!!  Not to mention the cost to the tax payer.  You can be sure this creep is charging his lawyers fees to the taxpayer.

Something is really ass end backwards with our court system.  He should stay behind bars, until his appeal comes up,  either overturned, or he is granted a new trial.

Bail should never be a consideration, when serving time for Murder, upon appeal!!

Every person found guilty has a right to appeal their sentence, and all of those found guilty, usually do appeal.  And this creep is of no exception.

But until he is gets off on some legality, of which I doubt, he should stay behind bars and serve his sentence.

Praise to the Judge who showed wisdom in not granting this creep a breath of fresh air, while his appeal goes before the court system.

Until then, let him sit in his small cell, and continue to serve his sentence.

Over and Out and Amen!!

Final appeal denied! He has some very unusual nerve thinking he should be able to appeal his sentence of felony murder.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/brian-malley-victoria-shachtay-supreme-court-1.4697914?cmp=FB_Post_News

The Supreme Court of Canada will not hear the appeal of an Alberta financial adviser who murdered his disabled client with a pipe bomb disguised as a gift after she learned he had lost all of her money.

Victoria Shachtay, 23, had entrusted Brian Malley with more than half a million dollars she had been awarded following a car crash that left her paralyzed.

The country's highest court has denied leave to appeal without providing reasons, as per its usual practice.
