Stepfather of Missing New Hampshire Girl Taken to Hospital

The stepfather of Celina Cass, an 11-year-old girl that has been missing for a week, was taken to the hospital in an ambulance on Monday morning.

Local New Hampshire news station WMUR reported that Wendell Noyes was suffering from "some sort of medical problem" and was taken to Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital after being carried to an ambulance on a stretcher. No further details were given.
In 2003, Noyes was forcibly committed to a hospital with a diagnosis of schizophrenia, ABC News reported. ABC obtained court records showing that Noyes has an arrest record for violating a restraining order and threatening his ex-girlfriend.

Celina's biological father, Adam Laro, spoke out for the first time on Sunday, pleading for his daughter's safe return. Laro was reportedly in the hospital when Celina disappeared, but has since been released.

"Whenever you want to come home, Celina, Daddy will be here waiting for you," Laro is quoted as saying by CNN.

Celina Cass was last seen on the evening of July 25 in her West Stewartstown, N.H. home.
WMUR reported that Celina's mother and stepfather told authorities the girl was gone when they went to wake her up the following morning.

The FBI is offering a $25,000 reward for anyone who provides information that leads to Celina's whereabouts or an arrest in her disappearance.  A private citizen has offered an additional $5,000 reward.

"We are still aggressively, aggressively searching and hoping to bring Celina Cass home," FBI Supervisory Special Agent Kieran Ramsay said in a news conference on Saturday.

Authorities have increasingly intensified efforts to locate Celina since her disappearance, and residents of West Stewartstown -- which has a population of about 800 -- have banded together to assist a frantic search for the schoolgirl, who is described as "shy" and unlikely to have run away.

In addition to the FBI, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police joined the search effort last week, and on Friday the Connecticut River was lowered to aid in a helicopter search for evidence of Celina's whereabouts. Divers searched unspecified bodies of water on Sunday.

The home that Celina Cass shares with her mother, sister, and stepfather is a mile from the Canadian border.

The Boston Herald reported that police officers were seen on Wednesday taking photographs of the interior of a red pickup truck parked across the street from Celina's home. Officers moved official vehicles in front of the pickup truck to obstruct media photographers' attempts to capture images.

Celina's mother and stepfather haven't made a statement since their daughter disappeared.

Fox News reported that an Amber Alert hasn't been issued because the circumstances don't meet the state's criteria. "They have to have some specific information they're asking the public to look out for, usually a description of a car, or a license plate number, or something tangible," said Jim Van Dongen, spokesman for the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, who isn't directly involved in the case.

"It just doesn't say, 'be on the lookout.' It's got to be something specific."

Officials told ABC News that the disappearance is still being treated as a missing persons case.

"Every house, every individual in the neighborhood is being spoken to," New Hampshire Assistant Attorney General Jane Young said Thursday.

Those who knew Cassie believe the girl wouldn't have run away.

"She never went anywhere without her mom or sister,"  family friend Rebecca Goodrum told the Boston Herald during a candlelight vigil Wednesday night.

"She is very shy," added Kayla Baglio, 18, who also knew the girl. "If she doesn't know you, she'd look at her sister to see if it was OK to talk to you."

Celina is 5-foot-5 and weighs 95 pounds, with long brown hair and hazel eyes and was last seen wearing a pink shirt, a pink pullover, blue shorts and shoes.

Any information about Celina Cass' whereabouts should be directed to New Hampshire State Police at 603-846-3333.

Dive teams searching the Connecticut River in Vermont in the search for a missing New Hampshire girl are focusing on a specific location in the river.

Crews were searching an area near the Canaan Hydro-Dam as investigators continued to look for clues in the disappearance of 11-year-old Celina Cass, who was last seen in her West Stewartstown, N.H., home on July 25.

At about 10:45 a.m. Monday, a dive team came up from the water, and shortly after, other investigators and Assistant Attorney General Jane Young went to the scene. The media were asked to leave the area.

Roads on the Canaan side of the river have been closed off, blocking the view of the river.

The FBI has offered a $25,000 reward for information leading to the location of Cass and the arrest and prosecution of a suspect.

A separate $5,000 reward from an anonymous citizen was announced for anyone who can provide information leading to her whereabouts.

There seems to be alot of commotion going on according to reports.  This isn't sounding good.   :'(

Thanks for the update, BellasMom. I have felt that this story would not have a positive ending. Officially we do not yet know if this is Celina, but unfortunately it likely is.

This is a very long article so I have not posted it in it's entirety. More can be read at the link for those that are interested.

Unidentified: A female body has been found near Celina Cass' home which is strongly believed to be the missing girl
A female body has reportedly been found at a dam near the home of missing 11-year-old Celina Cass.
Divers began searching the pond which is less than a mile away from her home in Stewartstown earlier today, focusing on the dam that spans the Connecticut River between Stewartstown and Canaan, Vermont.
Though the body has yet to be identified, it is strongly believed to be Celina, who has been missing from her home for a week.
After a dive team searching the river surfaced, investigators blocked off the area and asked reporters to leave.
Several of the 11-year-old's relatives could be seen at her home crying shortly after roads were blocked off and reporters were asked to leave.

Meanwhile, Celina's stepfather was hospitalised after he was said to have taken a 'funny turn' on the driveway of the family home earlier today after talking to reporters.

Wendell Noyes, who was reportedly involuntarily committed to a mental institution and diagnosed with schizophrenia in 2003, was seen repeatedly lying face down and rolling around in the driveway.
He was said to be receiving treatment for his mental illness.

Celina, who lives with her mother and stepfather, was last seen on Monday night playing on her  computer. The next morning, she was gone.
In a news conference yesterday, Celina's biological father, Adam Laro, spoke publicly for the first time, saying: 'Come home. Whenever you are ready to come home, daddy is ready for you.'

Residents described Celina as a sweet, friendly child. One of Celina's best friends, 11-year-old Makayla Riendeau, said Celina loves her mother and likes her stepfather and wouldn't run away.
She said Celina is very athletic, is a stickler about getting her school work done on time and loves having friends over to her house.
Makayla said: 'She's a very good friend, and she never lets anybody down.'

Investigators have knocked on hundreds of doors, and hundreds of fliers with her photo have been put up throughout Stewartstown and nearby communities.
Law enforcement agencies set up a command post at the local school.

Hi everyone. This SF looks like a pervert to me. Just his icky looks make me suspect him. The Step brothers red truck has now been impounded, don;t know much about that but it appears that this is the son of a former boyfriend of the mother who lives with the family. It has been mentioned that he ans Celina are close. i don't watch NG but from what is being said she had the bio father on her show via phone tonight. He said SF was a real nice guy. I only hope LE catches whomever did this to Celina and puts them away for life. Don't know if this state has death penalty for capital murder but wouldn't be surprised. One last thing, if the step father was a racehorse I bet we would lose our money. MOO

(CNN) -- One week after 11-year-old Celina Cass was last seen, her body was found Monday by divers searching the Connecticut River, New Hampshire Senior Assistant Attorney General Jane Young said.

"We have brought Celina home, not the way we wanted to bring her home," Young said early Monday evening.
The girl's father, Adam Laro, said he was heartbroken and grasping for answers after hearing the news.

"I ... can't believe what's gone on," Laro told HLN's "Nancy Grace" show on Monday night. "I have no fingers to point ... I hope there will be some answers, that's what I'm asking."

Young said that the case -- which had been considered a "missing persons" case -- is now being investigated as a "suspicious death." No one has been arrested or named publicly as a suspect in what is now a criminal investigation.

"Based on what we have seen visually, we are treating it as suspicious," the official said.
Celina's body was found around 10:30 a.m. Monday by divers from the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department near a hydroelectric plant outside West Stewartstown, New Hampshire, according to the attorney general's office.
Dad remembers Celina Cass as 'loving'

Young described it as a "routine search because of the proximity to (Celina's) home," about one-quarter mile away. The site is also near the Canadian border, where the Connecticut River forms the border between New Hampshire and Vermont.
The discovery came a day after Laro -- who was in the hospital when Celina went missing -- said that he was like others "wondering where my daughter is" and hoping she was safe.

On Monday night, the father thanked all those authorities and residents who had put their time and effort into finding Celina.
He said his memories of his daughter are "beautiful, beautiful, just a wonderful hearted person."
"(She was) someone who was loving and caring to a lot of people," Laro said. "That's how I would like to remember her."
Celina was last seen in her room, at her computer, around 9 p.m. July 25, according to police. CNN affiliate WMUR reported that her parents told authorities the girl was gone when they went to wake her up Tuesday morning.

Since then, local, state and federal investigators had searched for her and for clues about her whereabouts "by air, by land, by water," Young said Sunday evening.

Young said on Monday that authorities, including FBI agents, had received nearly 500 tips prior to finding the girl's body.
She described investigators' focus Monday around Celina's home as "routine," after being asked about yellow crime tape there and the removal of a vehicle. The aim is to "determine if we have any evidence" in place's around where the girl was last seen alive.

Young added that the discovery of the girl's body should help authorities "hone the investigation, so you will (still) see searches conducted in different areas."
An autopsy will be conducted on Celina's body on Tuesday morning in Concord, New Hampshire, said Young. The medical examiner will work to determine the cause of the girl's death.

Celina's father said that he had not spoken with his ex-wife, who lived in the house with the girl's stepfather of about a year, since the girl went missing. He described his ex-wife as a "great mother," and added he had positive interaction with the stepfather.
"(It was) a household that supposedly gave her great love, that's what she always told me," Laro said.

Don't throw things at me but...  what if she committed suicide??  What are the chances?

"The death certificate indicates the cause and manner of death are pending toxicology reports and further investigation," New Hampshire Assistant Attorney General Jane Young.
