Were Wendy and Roger living together for a long period of time? How old was the pic that was in the link? Was there a love triangle? Were they involved in drug activity? It is just amazing that there are no leads on this case. Do the police have a person of interest in mind, but cannot do anything because they don't have the cold hard evidence? It just seems there is so little information on this case on this site. Is there anyone out there that can shed any light on this case or give more information. This has been posted some time ago and there are no additional posts on Wendy and Roger. This is a horrible violent crime and certainly seems to have gone cold. 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

Police still probing unsolved double homicide near St. Thomas

Monday, February 2, 2015 9:37:07 EST AM

A double homicide that took place at a farmhouse near St. Thomas exactly 16 years ago remains unsolved.

And the $50,000 reward for information on the killings remains uncollected.

Dairy farmer Roger Smith and his common-law wife Wendy Haveron were killed by blunt-force trauma before some set a fire to cover up the crime, police said.

Firefighters arrived to quench the blaze early on Feb. 2, 1999, and found the two bodies.

Since then, a $50,000 reward was offered for information that would lead to a conviction of the murderer or murderers.

But police said Monday they are keeping the case open and continuing to work for leads in the case. Any tipsters can call OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or can anonymously call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
