Ontario Provincial Police in Lanark County made a grisly discovery Wednesday afternoon, coming upon the body of an elderly Perth man in a rural area near Smiths Falls.

Investigators are trying to determine whether foul play was involved in the death of 85-year-old Kenneth Robert Lewis, who had been missing for more than a week.

Search and rescue teams had scoured the area along the train tracks in Smiths for the past two days while trying to locate Lewis.

They found the victim's body around 1 p.m.

Described as healthy, mentally sound
He had been described as very healthy and of sound mind.

Lewis was last seen alive on April 18, captured on video surveillance buying lunch at a McDonald's restaurant in Perth.

His red 2006 Ford Focus ZX4 was found parked in the Town of Smiths Falls and is believed to have been parked there since April 18th, 2011.

The vehicle has been examined and is being held by police.
