Calgary police have new information that shows a man who was found dead in his home in March was murdered.

Police say recent DNA results and new investigative information have given them a new lead in the case of the death of 64-year-old Aref Selman Nassereddine.

And police believe the man was either followed by his killers or he invited them home.

On March 17, Nassereddine's family members discovered his body in his town house on the 1600 block of 42 Street S.W.

He had died from stab wounds, but there were no signs of a struggle.

Police now say that the person or persons involved left behind their DNA.

A woman has been charged with second degree murder in the 2010 death of Aref Selman Nassereddine, police report.

Crystal Aldina Patricia Crowchild, 26, of Calgary, was arrested on Thursday and has been charged with second degree murder.

Police are saying that Crowchild and Nassereddine had no prior relationship to one another before the murder.

The motive of the attack comes from the relationship the two had on the day the murder occurred, though police won't say any more.

DNA led them to accuse Crowchild of the murder, police say, but she has been in custody for a number of months under another undisclosed offence.

They are still looking for the murder weapon used in the murder.

At 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, police were called to the 1600 block of 42 Street S.W. for reports of a suspicious death.

Upon arrival, police found Nassereddine's body inside the house.

A subsequent autopsy confirmed that he was stabbed to death.

Crowchild will remain in custody until her court appearance May 13th.
