KINGSVILLE,, Ont. - A human body and the blazing van it was found in Thursday night, have been transported to Toronto for further investigation, say Ontario Provincial Police.

The remains will undergo an autopsy in Toronto while the the van, discovered in a Kingsville farm field off Road 2 East, will be inspected by an OPP forensics unit, said spokeswoman Const. Karen Gignac-Trudell.

"They have the resources to deal with this particular type of identification," she said.

She said she wasn't sure if the body was still in the van.

Gignac-Trudell would not comment on the van's origins or possible owner because the investigation is still ongoing. She said the scene has been cleared as of Saturday.

The van, a burgundy 1998 Plymouth Voyager, was discovered in flames by firefighters Thursday night.

When they doused it, though, they found the body inside. The body has yet to be identified.

It remains unclear if foul play was involved.
