More info on Robert

Investigation into Vaillancourt murder ongoingBill Schatzmann said the murder could only be a "senseless crime" as Vaillancourt was a likeable man with no enemies.

"He was just a kind, nice person," he said. "He was the kind of guy who wouldn't hurt a fly. You wonder what the hell the world is coming to. I can't think of a bloody reason anyone would hurt the guy."

Harder said there is still information coming in regarding the murder and that information is being followed up on. She said the case is considered an "active investigation."

Anyone who may have any information regarding Vaillancourt's murder is asked to contact Belleville police at 613-966-0882 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.

Probably drug dealing. He would not be in an alleyway at 4:30 a.m for the fun of it.

Building a dream home in Costa Ricca, would not be cheap.  Unless it was a pipe dream that he had.  Example living in a scruffy area, as you describe, does not usually mean that they had money to spend.  Who knows?

Why Costa Rica - is there a chance that his wife is from there?

What time do the bars close in Belleville?  Do they close at 4:30 a.m?

There would be no logical reason for his being on the waterfront at 4:15 a.m.
The mentioning of that dream home in Costa Rica by police was stated for a reason.  They do not waste print.

Note: the term business associates used by police.  Often used by police when drugs are thought of.

It appears as though his wife did not know his friends, acquaintances business and associates

And he probably did not have any known enemies in his everyday life.
If he was street robbed, police might have said so.
And why would police talk about the video, but not show the video?

There is something fishy here.

Just my thoughts.
