On the evening of November 16, 1996, Mr. Wyatt informed staff at the Twin Elms that someone was going to be picking him up that evening to go out to a dinner party and other functions during the evening.

The wallet and passport left in his room, appears to me that he was abducted from the Bed and Breakfast establishment. He didn't have time to grab these items, when this "person" came to pick him up.

Or, he may left behind these items, took cash only, as he was told that the area they were go to was "pretty rough"

Or - he was murdered in his motel room, his body was removed by the killer.  Too late for forensics to check anything, as the maids had already removed his articles the next day, and cleaned up.

The timelines are difficult to follow in bother articles.

Here is a bit more about Jamie the night he disappeared.

It was Saturday, November 16, 1996 and Jaime Wyatt was looking forward to a fun night on the town with friends. We don't know how his evening went; Jaime disappeared that very night and no one has heard from him since.

Jaime left his home in Newfoundland in September 1996 to find employment in Nova Scotia. He was staying at the Twin Elms Hotel on Inglis Street in Halifax, paid up until November 17 when he was scheduled to head back to Newfoundland.

The night of November 16, he shared his plans for the evening with a motel employee and said someone was coming to pick him up. That's the last reported sighting of Jaime and he was last in contact with his family on November 12, 1996. It's out of character for this beloved brother, uncle and friend to be out of touch with his loved ones. Investigators believe the circumstances of Jaime's disappearance are suspicious and foul play may be involved.
