The discovery prompted area residents to speculate the bones could belong to Christine Jack, a 33-year-old mother of two who disappeared from her home in Winnipeg's St. Vital neighbourhood on Dec. 17, 1988.
At that time, police searched the same area in Ste. Anne after residents said they saw someone driving a vehicle similar to Jack's the night of her disappearance. Her body was never found.
Jack's husband, former Winnipeg Blue Bomber receiver Brian Jack, was charged with his wife's murder but ultimately walked free following three high-profile trials and a decision by the Supreme Court of Canada that he couldn't be tried again.

Also even if the remains were buried 6 or even 10 feet deep could the frost of pushed the remains to the surface?

I gues so. that is why farmers always have a new pile of rocks each spring, because new ones keep emerging from the ground.

No indication of foul play after autopsy on remains found near Ste. Anne

The skull and other human remains found last week in the yard of a resident in the RM of Ste. Anne have been identified as male.
The RCMP said an autopsy concluded the remains were that of a man but added there is no indication of foul play.
The autopsy did not reveal the identity or age of deceased man.
The RCMP said it’s continuing its investigation to determine how long the remains had been at the site.

Its dissapointing that the remains aren't those of Christine Jack. I think all Manitobans were hoping that this case could/would be put to rest for once and for all.
From my perspective, I was as disappointed with the non-conviction of Brian Jack as I was with the acquittal of O.J. Simpson.  I personally think they are both guilty... just my opinion.
