MALONE, N.Y. -- Human remains and clothing have been found in a sand pit where New York state police and Quebec provincial police were searching for evidence into the disappearance of a 28-year-old Quebec woman.

Police ended the search early Saturday morning.

The discovery may lead to a breakthrough into the disappearance of Nathalie Fournier, who has been missing since 2004.

Police say the forensic analysis of the clothing and the remains could take days or even weeks.

Investigators targeted the site after questioning a trucker about unrelated child pornography charges.

State police say 30-year-old Adam Morris of Malone, N.Y., was charged Thursday with promoting a sexual performance by a child.

During that investigation, police say he made statements related Fournier's disappearance.

After questioning Morris, New York state police and Quebec provincial police began searching a sand pit near Morris's home for the remains of Fournier.

She was last seen around 2:30 a.m. Oct. 14, 2004, at La Place A Lorenzo near Saint-Mathieu de La Prairie, Que., where she worked as an exotic dancer.
