This is my first time hearing (reading) the story of Clayton any one can see there was foul play here, i have to read more i only glanced at it and it was enough to convince me he died at the hands of someone else , i pray he is resting in peace , i know his family is not , no one in this family will rest until justice is done , god bless you all,  :(

I have read every page in this article and check often for updates. I lived in New Waterford my whole life, I was born in NW hospital....My mother was a couple years younger then Clayton when the police murdered him. The way this case was handled, the lack of support for the students..the missing ambulance and personal police car, these FACTS alone scream cover up. It makes me ashamed and sick to my stomach to think of the levels of government that has been drug in and every one more cowardly then the next. I feel the only way this case is going to see justice is if someone from the US hears of it and does some digging and demand answers for why this boys life was taken, then so carelessly investigated. My mom told me stories about the fear that was in these kids and how little they understood, and they couldn't do anything, not even mention his name let alone seek justice and tell their side of the story. I pray everyday for Clayton's family and their struggles and often find myself talking to Clayton and asking questions I know only he knows. This case has shook me. Keep on keeping on, you's have tried everything else. PS I am looking forward to the walk in May. I would like to make a memorial poster maybe with his picture and a poem and hang them in a couple stores around town, only with your(Maureen) permission of course.

kayy20, thank you for your support. It is disheartening to know how many kids back then needed someone to talk to and unfortunately no one was there for them including their school. unfortunately they would probably be treated the same way if it happened today. Luckily these kids grew up and some are speaking out. Something they should have been allowed to do in 1990. Unfortunately some of these kids turned to drugs and/or alcohol because they couldn't deal with what they knew. Some tried to commit suicide and fortunately they didn't succeed. One has tried to commit suicide a number of times. One time he took a razor blade to his arms and just kept slashing his arms like he was using a saw. His scars are a constant reminder of what he has done to himself instead of dealing with what he saw. There are probably a lot more that we don't even know about.

As for a poster, we are asking people that plan on being in the walk, if they want they can make their own poster but please be careful what is on the poster and please no personal names.

Thank you,
Maureen

.... yes; that would be great if people would make and bring their own poster to the walk (with their own message).

I am using "Ready Board" ....It's 1/4 inch thick white and the size of Bristol Board .... only much thicker and like a strong syrofoam.  It's great..  I got it at Dollarama.... there's also all kinds of craft paint there $1 each ..... and or big markers... same price.

I'll bet some folks can come up with great signs;   I know I will try my best for sure.

When is the walk?
I live at the other end of the province but maybe my husband and I could make a trip of it.

Rebel; the walk is May 6th .... which is the same day (Sunday) and the same date (May 6) that Clayton disappeared in 1990.

I hope if there is a grad party that night, the kids come out and support us.  I firmly believe it's my brother's walking with his sign, standing up for justice for our kids, and keeping Clayton's murder rubbed in their faces, that kept the past 21 years of grads safe for the most part.  ...even though that may be their parents forbid them to party in any outdoor place .... the same people who have their heads stuck in the sand .... you'll notice they all have house parties for their kids now.... even allow them to drink and whatever it takes to keep them away from Nest parties.

As I said in my poem:

He's carrying his cross for us all

modified to correct date from May 4, to May 6

If by chance, you do come here Reb; the more publicity, the better.  And it would be a thrill to meet you.  I'm hoping to travel the mainland this summer.  There are a few places I won't rest until I check out myself.

The walk is on Sunday, May 6th from 2pm -5pm. There will be a BBQ after it and all the info will be posted later. The reason it is on Sunday and not Friday is because most people are off on Sunday.

It's 9hr drive...holy hanna!
But I've never seen that end of our province and it's a worthy cause so I'll start planning :)

Any hotel/motel idea's ladies?

Rebel: You could do the cabot trail as you come into the Island, it would make for a great spring vacation. And even if you cant make it you could do your own memorial at home,to raise some awareness to Clayton's case on your end, maybe there's people who feel as strongly as you do.

Thank you Maureen for permission and Lost for your ideas, you ladies truly are wonderful and the strength you show is amazing.

Growing up in my generation I know that some parents have a "if you're going to drink i'd rather you be at home, safe" motto, too many to count honestly.
I partied at the very places Clayton and his friends did, watched a cop tackle and arrest an underage friend 20 feet from the brook where Clayton was dumped. I know kids that wouldn't even be here if any of the suicide attempts turned deadly back then. It hits so close to home for me, it literally hits my home.

I get so hung up on the facts that it frustrates me beyond words why these obvious things weren't linked, and obvious intimidation acts not dealt with.
When the right people come together "accessories" in the cover up, and put aside their fear for justice... What a day.

Kayy20, you just hit on the very heart of the matter.  This shows how much you've grown and matured since that very night of Clayton's disappearance.  Oh how I wish there were a doz. more of you!  What a team you would make in bringing this case to a end .... by mentoring those who are still afraid - or who really haven't matured enough to right the wrong they were too young and not equipped to do anything about back then!

...one in particular comes to my mind from back then.  He was totally in a nervous break down over Clayton's death (in my humble opinion); and he kept saying - over and over  "I should have helped him!"  as he broke down in tears, and bolted away from the presence of Clayton's parents and a few more of us.  ..... a long story - which will be exposed at a later time my dear!
