There may be more to this case than has been reported publicly...

A family member has recently commented on FB about Brandy not being born a female.  It was then acknowledged by another family member that the police are aware of this.  For privacy reasons I will not copy and paste the post here.

Perhaps this information would make a difference when searching for Brandy?  Maybe she is now living as a male to escape a dangerous situation?  Thoughts?

I'm not sure why nothing official has been announced regarding Tara Chartrand.  Nothing on the news or in the paper so far.  There were human remains found on 1100 block Atkinson last Friday night/Saturday morning.  All police have said is that there was no way to determine  identity except by autopsy which was performed today.

Maybe Tara was found in another province and it's not being reported locally?

It's been a year and still no sign of this young man.  I'm not sure I understand the police stance on offering a reward?  The latest news article...

No new leads in case of Saudi student who vanished in Saskatoon a year ago
The Canadian Press
Fri, 14 Dec 2012 21:21:00 CST

SASKATOON - A year has passed and still not much is known about a University of Saskatchewan student from Saudi Arabia who mysteriously disappeared in Saskatoon.

Except for a jacket found on the city's Train Bridge, Hamza Alsharief seemingly vanished without a trace last December.

The Saudi Arabian government has been heavily involved in the search for Alsharief, hiring a private detective and funding a search of the South Saskatchewan River.

"The police have told us consistently there's no evidence of foul play, and the private detective hasn't found any evidence of foul play," said Gar Knutson, lawyer for the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Ottawa.

"The police have been extremely transparent in their investigation."

He said the top theory right now is that Alsharief fell into the river.

"But people that know rivers and bodies say that normally a body would have shown up by now. So it's still an extremely unusual and puzzling case," said Knutson.

The 23-year-old had just finished writing his final exams for his third year of chemical engineering. His sister Laila Alsharief said she spoke to her brother on the phone just days before he went missing.

She had been studying in Waterloo and was Alsharief's only family member in Canada. Knutson said Laila recently moved back to Saudi Arabia and is "devastated" by her brother's disappearance.

Knutson also said the family was considering offering a reward, but police advised against it to eliminate any bogus leads.

That area is way north of the train bridge.  It's between the water treatment plant and the Silverwood golf course.

I truly hope that it is someone whose family has been waiting and wondering.

Melissa and family come from around where I lived for 18 years.  My kids went to school with her brother Randy.  According to Melissa's mom Kim's post on FB on Nov. 24, Melissa is safe.  Here's the post -

She is not missing. she is safe and sound. she is scared of going to jail because she was in a house visiting when Police came in and arrested EVERYONE in the residence because a SAWED OFF 22. she now realizes how she is Loved and Cared for and somehow she will deal with this . She says "Sorry I didnt realize that family and friends would think I was missing. I will keep in touch from now on!"

Sounds like she's mixed up with a bad crowd and is in hiding?

After watching the Nov. 27th interview with GlobalTV and Sheena Remple (link below), I seems I've mixed up the two Rempel men.  Tim is Sheena's husband and Will is Tim's brother.  Sorry for any confusion caused.

Global Calgary has an update with the names of the people being charged - Sheena Rempel (mother of Ryan's daughter), Will Rempel (Sheena's brother-in-law) and Tim Rempel (new husband and father of her 2nd baby).  Will is the man that was interviewed about Ryan's disappearance and the porn charges a few months ago - http://www.globaltvcalgary.com/exclusive+global+news+interviews+will+rempel/6442682556/story.html

The November 23, 2012 update:

CALGARY- Police have found the remains of a young father who has been missing since February.

24-year-old Ryan Lane was last seen February 7, 2012 near the 5200 blocks Country Hills Boulevard, and investigators believed he met with foul play.

On Thursday, they confirmed they found Lane’s skeletal remains, but aren’t saying where or when they were discovered. A number of searches were conducted in the Beiseker area for his body.

“This is a very complicated investigation, complicated case,” said S/Sgt. Grant Miller. “[There has been] lots of consultation with the medical examiner and crowns office, and that leads us to the point where we are today.”

Lane’s death is considered a homicide, and first-degree murder charges are pending against two men and one woman.

Global News has learned those suspects are Will Rempel, Tim Rempel and Sheena Rempel. Sheena is the mother of Ryan Lane’s young daughter, and police were investigating if his disappearance was linked to a custody dispute.

“We’re making the designation of first degree murder, which usually speaks to intent and premeditation,” Miller said.

The homes of all three suspects were searched by police back in February, and Will Rempel’s truck was found by police after being sold to a scrap metal business in Airdrie shortly after Lane went missing.

Investigators have contacted Lane’s family about the latest developments.

Jordanne Bolduc made a statement on the "Help Find Madison Scott" FB page yesterday.  Hopefully this will help clear up some of the misinformation that could be damaging to Madison's case (I've copied it directly from the FB page).

This young woman was portrayed badly on the show and I feel bad for her. . .

Regina / Re: Tara Fawn Chartrand (Shingoose) - Murdered - Sept. 16, 2012
« on: November 19, 2012, 05:43:14 PM »
cana_nomad, one of the articles I read in the Leader Post said that Ms. Chartrand was known to occasionally leave Regina without letting people know that she was going but that she always contacted someone to tell them where she was but this time she has had no contact with family or friends.  I think that is part of the reason for the time lag as she wasn't reported missing immediately.

The north central area of Regina is/has become somewhat of a war zone.  At one point it had the distinction of having the lowest income per capita of any neighborhood in Canada.  Many residents live in fear of the gangs, drugs and weapons are common place and the street trade is active there.  It's a scary place to drive through if you don't know where you're going.

This afternoon Jacqueline Smedley, Fribjon Bjorrnson's partner of 11 years publicly stated that Madison and Fribjon did know each other - "They hung out over ball season the previous year before any of this happened. They never dated. I know this because I was with Frib for 11 years."  She also says, "Just want to say thank you to the people that have been clearing the rumour about Fribjon. That rumour did circulate when he was here with us, but at least he was able to defend himself then. I really don't want my children to grow up hearing things about their father that are not true. Thanks again.

It's too bad that 48 Hours seems to have gotten some of the facts wrong but the broadcast itself has brought a lot of public attention to Madison's disappearance and maybe someone will feel the need to share what they know now that people are talking about it more.  There are always those people that want the attention that media brings and 48 Hours might be willing to do a follow up if someone comes out with new information.  Fifteen minutes of fame might be enticing enough that someone will let something slip.  I hope so for Madison's family's sake...
