Apparently they had the remains for a whole year but with held it fearing it would interfere with the investigation. Sad thing to keep from the parents who've spent 12 agonizing years not knowing!

Lost- All good questions I wonder myself... what motivated.. I stilll feel something was done to her and she was dumped somewhere whether by accident after an altercation or not... but given that there are so many places between here and Buffalo I am more inclined to think it's on the way to Buffalo then anywhere in Toronto, I think they were trying to make it look like she had fled and gone elsewhere until he was caught using the card.

This whole case is so tragic, I'm very dedicated to reading all I can about it now. So many people hurt from this, lost without answers. I truly hope a new year & new anniversary brings a new hope and that the people who know things they haven't shared, come forward to police with that information.

So sorry to those of you who are suffering by not knowing, may the peace you need find you.

Saw the special and am furious.. we need this, we nee this 10 years ago I have no idea why anyone would NOT be for it! I wish they had to experience NOT knowing where a loved one is and finding out they've been an unidentified body somewhere for years, closure is everything to these families. We need to take a stand and make something happen with this. Makes me want to run for office JUST to pass this! I am going to start something... I say let's use the persuasion and power of social networking and make more people aware of it!

1 Million people in favour of Lindsey's Law on facebook perhaps? hmmm

General Discussion / Re: Why People Disappear
« on: August 26, 2010, 08:23:47 AM »
I think it's imporant to state that although it seems irrational and selfish for people to commit suicide you need to dig a lil deeper and understand this is not a choice most come by in a day, it's usually a plan carried out over months or years, typically these are people suffering from serious illness or deep depression that no medicine has helped them with. Typically just before their suicide they'll appear more upbeat, this is because they have come to terms with their ending their life.

Also some people commit suicide because they are terminally ill and don't want to suffer through weeks or months of slow and painful demise, so I think it's a little judgemental to call them selfish, I get the point but really it's more selfish for others to expect them to live through the pain so they can take comfort in their being there. These are of course the extreme situations I am talking about
Just my opinion

Wow certainly does look like her.

Did anyone call their crime stoppers to let them know about a possible connection or to remind them as suggested? Did anything else come of this.

Nice update :) Looks good nice and neat :)

I hope so too lost :( It's a sad case all around

OOOOh thanks Chris can't wait to pick that up!

To answer your question,, they claimed Holly gave them the card/PIN... and that's all I've heard ever released about the bank card. I agree there are tons of places they could have put the body, to be honest I don't think she was with them in Buffalo. The area he lived was being build up at the time and a mass vacinity it's also near Taylor creek park again lot sof places to dump a body.

If I'm not mistaken Skyre may have left the thread because of a troll on the sight. She was Steve's niece and was claiming to be a friend of Holly and just kept saying how Steve had nothing to do with it and so on and so on until finally one day she admitted to who she was and left the site (of course she won't think he's guilty as a relative!) it caused a bit of a huff on hear for a while and the thread went cold.

If you ever saw the crime files on the show or could get a hold of it Sue Scambatti tracked down Susan and she wanted nothing to do with anything about the case it ruined her life and she was an aquaintence of Holly not a friend and blah blah blah seems likea  stone cold bitch IMO.

lost it was used at the Galleria Mall in Buffalo.

Also Susan was in the car with Holly and Steven when Holly allegedly jumped out.

So glad everyone is taking an interest in this case this has been one that's plagued me for some time as she lived a block away from where my parents live and where I grew up.

Something I came across a couple weeks ago is that this case is basically now considered a Homicide but with no body. See the Toronto police site

Sad but they don't believe she is alive and I think they just don't have the evidence to prove Steven did it, but they are looking at him I believe.

I had looked through their site before and hadn't found anything close to her I don't believe she's been recovered yet but I think that Steve and Susan had everything to do with Holly's dissapearance
