Yes the area searched has something to do with Kevin. malloryknox as a family member I can say you are mistaken I'm afraid. Dan was investigated and cleared. He was not a suspect. Justice for Kevin is coming soon. It is all I can say.

I hope that he just pleads guilty so that the family does not have to suffer more than they have already.

Another possibility of why the police are interested in CF (that I have not seen suggested yet) may be because of someone he himself knows. Someone on here posted earlier that the only condition of CF's parole was to not associate with other criminals. So (speculation of course) maybe he was hanging around a criminal, of whom the police  think may be involved in Amber's case and thus think CF may have some pertinent information.

I'm sure that not only staying away from known criminals is the only thing he needs to be aware of while on parole.  There's probably a whole list of things.  I've seen someone violating their parole unknowingly because they were near someone with a criminal record.  They just need to be on their toes in the community, of course!

I, along with others, I'm sure, encourage people to post their thoughts and feelings.  I thought that's what a forum is for.  Brainstorming and trying to help, and weeding out the rumors and blaspheme with solid evidence through police and (sigh) sometimes the media.

When people point fingers at those that have not been found guilty of anything, that crosses the line. We are not not judge and jury.

Yes.  That's what I mean.  It should be okay to discuss certain issues, but not to silver bullet.  We are not the law.  Thank you, Deb.

After seeing Eva's name I had an Ah Haw moment. We have made these POI's objects of scrutiny. Who made me God , voicing my opinion . I have an opinion like everyone else but I shall keep it to myself. I dont know all the facts so who am I to make speculations. Imagine daily how Mason and CF feel , trying to live their lives and dealing with people gossiping about them. Is this a form of bullying? I pray for all involved in the fore front,  peace soon , when the murderer is arrested. All the families are going through hell. I would like to erase all my comments because I am ashamed. We can hide behind our made up names and shoot off at the mouth. I will keep my pretty little mouth closed and will feel better about my decision. Good bye.

I don't think that you should be ashamed.  Everyone's feelings are up in the air about everything that is going on.  Not sure what you posted, but a lot of it could also just be giving in to the gossip.  I, along with others, I'm sure, encourage people to post their thoughts and feelings.  I thought that's what a forum is for.  Brainstorming and trying to help, and weeding out the rumors and blaspheme with solid evidence through police and (sigh) sometimes the media.  I was a little disappointed in the local paper silver bulleting;  but I can say for them that they are very quick and quite accurate in trying to inform the public of what is going on in the investigation. :)

PS- Please stay and continue to brainstorm with us!  8)

This has nothing to do with Amber, and may be off topic, which might be needed until the police can solve and arrest the person who has taken Amber's life.
Nova Scotia has many missing murdered and missing people on this board, but I would like to direct you to a young lady, Madison Scott in BC, who went out for the week-end for a camping party attended by a group of people and vanished.
Her parents are still pleading for information, and Madison has not been found. You may be interested in seeing the different type of response, or lack of response by those that were at that party. Madison was also a wonderful, sweet natured 20 year old and well loved by all you knew her.

Thanks jellybean.  That case is certainly interesting as well.  I feel for all families missing loved ones.  This is not the only thread in which I post in as well.  I have been conversing with Natasha Lynn Montgomery's mother who is in anguish about her daughter's body never being found, just found bad company with Cody Alan Legebokoff BC's latest serial killer.

I apologize.  Now back to Amber and her killer at large............

Yeah, some people have slammed a lot of blame on Mason because he's the boyfriend who was supposed to pick her up and she never showed.  A lot of rumors from that one little statement alone!  Then his car was taken, which a lot of people were confident that something would be found in it.  I will agree that there is a fine line between sharing thoughts and outright blaming someone.  Now Chris Falconer is in custody and that started a whole whirlwind of controversy.

Of course there are two sides to all of this. These people that have been the subject of conversation also have people in their own lives who love and support them. They have families that have been thrust into the public eye, as well. It's painful for all involved. That's why I have said many, many times that it is time for us to let the police do their job. In the end it will be them that have to figure all this out and it seems they are doing a great job.

I can truthfully say that in all my years of being a member on this site I have never seen anything remotely close to this. We have many cases of young, murdered and missing girls. None of their threads have been like this. We could have had much finger pointing in some of those cases as well, but we haven't.

At least we can reasonably believe that Amber's case will be solved. Amber was missing for 4 weeks before she was found. Her family did not get her back the way they wanted but at least she has come home. We have many cases of loved ones who have been missing for years, some who may never be found.

Thanks to some very good police work Amber's case is moving in a positive direction. Now is the time for patience.

Thanks, Deb.  I agree with this as well.  I think the police are very close to finding the truth in these matters, and like you said, Amber's family was very lucky to have her come back so soon, when many will not be found for years.  Some may not come home at all.  So sad.  :'( :'( :'(

I honestly think that everytime someone pops into the scenario, people automatically think of how this person could have done this, or that.  It's not pointing fingers, it's pretty much gossip about how the person could fit into the investigation, and people sharing their ideas and thoughts.  Mason Campbell is a definate example of this...he simply went to pick up his girlfriend who vanished, and then all of a sudden he's the hot topic until someone else comes along, like Chris Falconer.  They also took his car and his Stepsister Alice's in Heathbell is still being searched.  So everyone is like wow he killed someone before, let's reeeeeaally look at this guy, and his Stepsister's place happens to be around the area her body was found.  The police are doing a very thorough investigation into this and are trying to eliminate people as suspects.  They are doing a really good job and I'm expecting an arrest soon, to tell you the truth.

I agree with Debbie.

When Mr Campbell was mentioned there were people flocking here, including some longer term members of the site, to tell us how bad of a guy he is, how they were not surprised that it was him, how he was dipping into donation boxes for smoke money, how he had "little man syndrome", and so on. (Not saying it was you - no names) It was not simple gossip whatsoever. Words can hurt.

Yes, he certainly was run through the mill all right.  We all just have to sit tight and wait it out.  It's going to be quite the ending.

Alice Meier, whose mobile home is reportedly being searched in connection with this case (either because it is in proximity to where Amber was found or for other reasons unknown), has posted the following on her Facebook Wall:

"I wish people would stop with the rumors, the media causes enough just trying to make the best story to get the sales.Life is hard enough in the maritimes,I really don't need people making up stories.Let's just all remember Amber and wait for the REAL truth to come out and then ya's can say what ya want.Thanks."

Her friends have posted supportive comments in terms of what she and her children must be going with this search.

I personally remain open-minded whether her step-brother is in any way involved but at the same remind you that being found guilty in the murder of a taxi driver at age 15 is not a case of we all have kids and we know what kids are like. The murder of the taxi driver was not normal teen behavior at all and I really question the predictions that officials make before they parole murderers, such as saying the man was at the high range of the low level risk of re-offending. Talk about double speak. Do people think they have crystal balls or what? The public has been let down so many times in terms of parolees, but as I said I remain open minded until the truth comes out, because we simply do not know.

That's right!  He was arrested, according to the media, on an unrelated matter.  In my opinion, some breach of parole like not being allowed to hang with known criminals.  I agree that Alice and the kids are probably going through a lot right now and it is sad.  I don't have a facebook account because it's one huge social gossip ring with nothing but tall tales and rumors.  It is hard to distinguish between fact and fiction, whatever you read and hear there.

I disagree with your summation.

So no, I don't always think this is a simple matter of people sharing opinion. I think it has, at times, turned into malicious gossip and rumour mongering.

The mods have, at times, been working overtime to sort it all out and I am pretty sure you have seen some of it here. I know I have seen more than enough.

I saw the Spears' Room and Board being blocked off the other night, and was told by a shopkeeper (who has told me other stuff I did not print here but actually was very accurate) that the Spears' Room and Board was blocked off for investigation and we will soon see the story on that later on.  Apparently Chris Falconer was there (staying or visiting, not sure to be honest) and that's why it was blocked off.  I cannot see them blocking off the boarding house because of the wall for Amber becoming too crowded that gathered there for prayers; as people do have to get in and out of the boarding house, obviously.  Now they have Chris Falconer's vehicle, which had plastic over the interior; whether the police did that or if it was already there is unclear at this point.  The investigation can go so many ways at this point.  I'm hoping the police are close to an arrest, be it Mason Campbell, Chris Falconer, whoever!!  As long as the family gets some answers.  It would also be nice to know if the public should be on some sort of an alert about a dangerous person being on the loose--but they have not.  In my opinion, they are nailing this down and I'm confident that they are doing their best to end all of it.  The family needs that.

Check out this article.  In it, there are denies of an arrest being made.  Yes, the Chronicle Herald reported that Alice Meier, stepsister of Chris Falconer, owns the mobile home.

I agree we can't jump the gun...I'd also like to point out that the police have never confirmed that the mobile home or the car are in any way related to CF...that's all been passed around as what the neighbours have said and what is "believed" to be true (not by the police...just in general) The police have never stated that the woman who owns the home is related to CF...that was the press and we know very well at this point that they make mistakes.

Exactly.

The woman who owns the mobile home, Alice Meier is the stepsister of Chris Falconer.  Obviously if neighbors live there and knew her, then yes it is in fact her home.

you're assuming that the neighbours know for sure and aren't just speculating about the connection.

Not just neighbors.  People I know out there too.

Thanks Eva for that Post every bit of Fact always help.  I for one hope your son is doing okay or the best that he can under the circumstance.  Praying for answers soon for all so this whole unrest with in the town folk can settle down.

I am sure hoping that the people who pointed unjust fingers in the end at innocent people, are big enough to appologize even though it never takes it out of the persons heart.

We must bare in mind that the arrest of this man by corrections service is likely for a parol violation and could be something as simple as he is supposed to stay with in a certain county,  and simply visited family or some one out side the specified county.  Could be for many reasons totally unrelated.  Since the media jumped the gun in some of there statements,  I am sure if a parol officer lives in that county they would revoce bail on a simple matter, could even  be something as foolish is if he is not to be around any one drinking, and his sister, or father, or friend or priest, etc had some drinks while he was there,  whats he gonna do to stop them, nothing, but that could put him in parole violation.  Having said this to make a point, that we dont jump the gun yet again as has been done in the past in regard to Amber.  Best we wait for the police to make any arrests and release the info.  At this point I believe we still need to keep an open mind.
An interesting bit about discretionary powers with respect to parole: (Thanks to Val for this)

Suspension (Canadian Corrections and Conditional Release Act)14
135.
(1) A member of the Board (National Parole Board) or a person, designated by name or by position, by the Chairperson of the Board or by the Commissioner 9Correctional Service of Canada), when an offender breaches a condition of parole or statutory release or when the member or person is satisfied that it is necessary and reasonable to suspend the parole or statutory release in order to prevent a breach of any condition thereof or to protect society, may, by warrant,

(a) suspend the parole or statutory release;
(b) authorize the apprehension of the offender; and
(c) authorize the recommitment of the offender to custody until the suspension is cancelled, the parole or statutory release is terminated or revoked or the sentence of the offender has expired according to law.

I just read this myself on a website.  Very interesting read!
