Send a picture or Fax one to the Friendship Centers., and any other native organizations. The word will get out. The moccasin telegraph works fast.

I found a man, I didn't even know where he lived/phone, with in 2 hours. Made a few calls. Received a call from the Elder, within no time, and he lived outside Winnipeg. ! He didn't realize how quick, he could be found.

That child needs to be off the streets, or with who she is with. I hope and pray she is found soon. :'( :'(

This is about ten months to be missing. I hope she wasn't hoodwinked, by some guy , and she is still mobile. I am so tired of all our missing gals, and now men too.

Her face feels familiar to me. Maybe she was in Edmonton for a while. I will keep a look out, but I haven't seen her in ages, if it was even her. :'(

The family and friends of a missing Regina woman are searching for evidence and closure this weekend.
Diane Big Eagle's daughter, Danita, was 22 years old when she went missing in 2007. Now, after a new tip came in via Facebook, family and friends directed their search at fields west of Regina.
Friday's search did turn up something, but Diane says it doesn't appear to be linked to Danita.
"We found a purse," Diane said, choking back tears."It doesn't look good for us."
She wouldn't elaborate on the purse's contents, as they plan to pass it along to police. But, she did say it contains no identification, though she's certain it's not the purse belonging to her daughter.
Friends, family and members of the Ocean Man First Nation have been searching since last weekend for any clues to Danita's disappearance. Diane says they'll continue to search each weekend, as a group, until the first snowfall.
The family is also offering $10,000 reward for information that leads to the location of Danita.

I have a bad feeling this tip is from one of those stupid psychic freaks who give false hope to families.

In 2006 the AMW in house psychic told the family of Tamera Keepness this exact same thing. Field west of Regina.

I'm sure doing something feels better then doing nothing, but it sure must be heartbreaking for those folks if they come up empty handed.

By chance, I drove thru Ocean Man First Nation earlier this summer. Quite a nice place. But I have a feeling someone knows something, I am just not sure why they won't help police solve it? It always seems a lot of these cases could have been solved sooner if folks spoke up sooner.

Family of Danita Big Eagle posts $10,000 reward for information leading to missing woman
By BARB PACHOLIK, Leader-Post August 31, 2010   •Story•Photos ( 1 )

Dianne Big Eagle holds a cheque for $10,000 offered as a reward for information about the disappearance of her daughter.Photograph by: Don Healy, Leader-PostREGINA — To a mother longing for any word of her youngest daughter who vanished more than three years ago, the e-mails that Dianne Big Eagle recently received represent hope.

Maybe, the tips hold useful information. Possibly the searching prompted by the e-mails might finally lead to Danita — or perhaps not.

But at this point, Big Eagle, who last spoke to her daughter on Feb. 11, 2007, won't rule anything out.

She can't.

Even if these new tips ultimately lead nowhere, they remind Big Eagle that there could still be someone out there who has information about Danita's whereabouts.

And so she and her family decided this weekend to post a $10,000 reward for information that leads them to Danita. It's a lot for a family that has endured much, but a pooling of resources — including money from residential school settlements — has made the offer of a reward possible.

"We've got to try," the Regina woman said Monday as Danita's two young children, the grandchildren Big Eagle is now raising, played nearby. Danita's son wasn't even a year old when he last saw his mother; her daughter was age three.

As Big Eagle spoke, the children rode their bicycles alongside a large blanket bearing Danita's picture. "They know something's up," said Big Eagle, who doesn't like to say much in front of them.

On the night the then 22-year-old woman last spoke to her mother by telephone, Big Eagle could hear loud music and voices — the sounds of a party.

The four e-mails, which Big Eagle received last week, came from a woman who suggests she saw Danita that night at a house, heard what sounded like a struggle, and believes clues to the young woman's whereabouts lie on the outskirts of the city. Big Eagle subsequently met with the author of the e-mails, went by the house identified by the woman, and ultimately gathered with family members to search on the western edge of the city this weekend. They were back out there again in Monday's rain.

Big Eagle said she was warned by police to be wary of the information and the source. She is frustrated, but undeterred.

"What does this woman have to gain?" asked Big Eagle, noting the tipster came forward before the reward was offered. "She told stuff that only a person that was there would know," said Big Eagle.

Regina police spokeswoman Elizabeth Popowich said investigators had received the same tip at an earlier date. It was checked out and "determined to be unfounded."

"Finding Danita is what she (Big Eagle) wants, and so far none of us knows how to make that happen. We all have the same goal," Popowich said. "Ultimately what we want is to be able to give that family some answers."

Big Eagle admits she has to "grasp at anything" — because it just might be something.

"We still have that hope," she said. "There's a 50-50 chance my daughter is still out there."

Danita Faith Big Eagle is an aboriginal woman, 5-foot-6, 110 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. Previous missing persons reports have noted the tattoo of a happy face and the letter "D" on the web of her left hand.

Those with information can reach Big Eagle at 550-1737 or call Regina police at 777-6500 or Crimestoppers at 545-8477 (545-TIPS).

Danita is one of 99 long-term missing persons in this province listed on a website hosted by Saskatchewan's policing agencies at www.sacp.ca (http://www.sacp.ca).
