RCMP need help in the search for a teen aged girl last seen in Radisson.

The last time family and friends heard from Katelyn Noble was last August.

Sgt. Doug Coleman says she's blond, blue eyes with a visible mole on her left cheek.

At this point the Mounties do not suspect foul play.

Noble is originally from Mission B.C.

Another missing teen. I wonder if she was a run away. What was she running from, or what was she running too?

She is gorgeous, and I sure hope no bad guys got her.

They always think the kid just ran away. By now, 6 months later, someone should have heard something you'd think. My fear is that she hitch hiked somewhere, Raddison is on highway 16!!!

I 'met' Katelyn's mom when she posted on Facebook, and we've become 'friends'.  It must be heartbreaking to not know where your child is.  She created a group which can be found here and contains information not mentioned in the news.  I'm just new here, so forgive me if I didn't post the link correctly.  I've sent a link to her mom as well.  Maybe she will join us.

Ed's gone  back to his wife in our province. greg stayed in the area looking for katelyn, he still is, but having no luck last i heard. so keep looking for her, we need to know!!!!!!!!!

Hi Leona, thanks for joining. I am so sorry about your daughter, the details sure paint a different picture. Highway 16 In Alberta and BC are notorious for missing females, called the highway of tears.

Have the police mentioned anything about a suspect? Or do they feel she has left the area? Mission BC? Has anyone at all heard from her?

I hope this is resolved soon and with a very happy ending.

THanks.

Here is the story from the link just posted.

Father blames teen's disappearance on slow-moving crime bill
The father of a missing B.C. teenager, last seen in Saskatchewan seven months ago, says if Canada had raised the age of consent from 14 to 16 his daughter might still be at home.

Doug Noble said his daughter, Katelyn, was 14 when she left her home in Mission, B.C., with her 35-year-old boyfriend to live on a farm near Radisson, northwest of Saskatoon.

The blue-eyed blonde was last seen in August, hitchhiking with another man after a fight with her boyfriend, he said.

From the time Katelyn first left home early last year, Noble said his hands were tied because of the law.

"If I would have said an underage girl has been taken out of her house by a 35-year-old guy they would have been all over it," Noble told CBC News. "But basically they're looking at me going, 'Did she consent?'"

Raising the age of consent from 14 to 16 is part of the new federal crime bill currently under consideration in Ottawa. The age of consent is the age at which one is legally allowed to engage in sexual activity.

But if it had been passed when first proposed in 2006, Noble said it could have helped him with his daughter when she first started sneaking out of the house, doing drugs and hanging around with older men.

But because she was 14 at the time, there was little her father could do.

"You're 14, you can do whatever you want," he said. "You can go in and withdraw yourself from school. You can move away. You can do anything you want and there's nothing anybody can do about it."

RCMP say the teen's disappearance is under investigation and they are hoping tips will come in from the public as to her whereabouts.

I'm 36 and for the life of me I just cannot understand how at my age, someone can do this. It just does not seem normal at all.

I cannot believe the Senate is holding up this bill! Since when does the Senate ever do anything anyway? And why this bill?

I totally agree..I'd like to know as well why it took months for us to be made aware of the fact that she was even missing in our area!!  The first I ever heard about Katelyn was when I came across a group her mother formed on Facebook.  Funny thing too, I recall hearing on the news one day how three Radisson men were arrested in Saskatoon, for an assault that had occurred earlier that morning in Radisson.  Obviously, these were the men her boyfriend confronted at the Red Bull.  And this would have been around the time she went missing.

I think the reason for this new law that the Conservatives passed (with support of the Liberals some NDP but not the bloc for some reason) was designed to get rid of that gray area you are referring to Des. Yes, that is a pedophile as far as I am concerned, but right now, the law see's this as iffy.

From what I gather now, at 14, this man would become a felon and the police would be able to seek out the young person and bring her to her parents.

No way should a guy my age, be running around with a 14 year old. Even the most mature 14 year old cannot connect with someone who is 35, to me that guy is a boni fide creep.

hello everyone, katelyn's mom here.
The attention is mounting, this is good, the more circulation the better.  My x husband got his say about the law. Hope it helps change things. As far as I am concerned, it was only "speculation" that Katelyn was hitchhiking out of town, but also to let you know, Police are coming to b.c. today and will be interviewing Ed, hope they can find him...Greg has been interviewed, so we shall see what happens next with Ed's story. All we have is ideas about her disappearance. I have horrible thoughts sometimes. Must not go there though...many women have gone missing, it's not right. Growing up in Vancouver was a challange, I avoided a few situations where I could have ended up in trouble big time, eg; not going with willy pickton to his party at the farm!!! back in 74' at the "Grand" in downtown vanc. My reason to not go.... i was under age and had to be home, I had a curfue..  I often told Katelyn to be aware of her feelings and if something seemed wrong then hang back and wait, or run like hell's after you. on that note, bye, zara

Oh weird, you knew the Picktons back in the 70's? Amazing they got away with as much as they did for so long.

I am glad the police are coming to interview people, they are trained to find signs of deciept. Whereever she is, someone will eventually get word out to her she is missing. I can't wait until this is settled, and I canont wait for the Senate to finally approve the laws that could have prevented this.

Your all right the age of consent should be 16 and to take it one more step higher if the person who is with a 16 year old is more than four years her seinor then they should also be charged.I have benn a very strong supporter of this for years and it is about time it is passed.

I do wounder why it has not been passed.Who would not want it to be passed ? Maybe we should ask some of the law makes if they like young girls, ???

I don't think there have been any new developments in the disappearance of Katelyn. I was looking at this case and wondering how far Radisson is from Estevan. This is another teen that they immediately listed as a runaway just like Courtney Struble. Courtney was thirteen at the time of her disappearance  and Katelyn was fifteen. Katelyn has been missing for almost two years. By now I think she would have contacted someone if she was a runaway.

Thanks for that Janet. I know there is some time that passed in between these two disappearances, I think just over three years, Courtney of course being July, and Katelyn August. It just caught my attention that they were both listed as runaways and both from SK.

It has been one year since 15 year old Katelyn Marie Noble went missing from the Radisson area.

She was last seen on a grid road heading south from the farm she was living on August 26th 2007, and has not contacted her family since, which police say is unusual for her.

The RCMP say Noble disappeared after having a confrontation with her boyfriend, and his business partner.

Noble was originally from Mission, British Columbia before she moved to Saskatchewan in 2006.

The RCMP are asking anyone with information on Noble's disappearance to contact them immediately.

Noble's case is being investigated by the RCMP's Historical Case Unit, and is one of their main priorities.

To contact the RCMP's Historical Case Unit, call 1-306-780-5582. You can also call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.

Hopefully this family will get answers soon and Katelyn can be in contact with her family and return home where she will be safe.

I really hope those police investigators can solve this. it really makes me sick these dirtbags know how to play the system and cowardly defy justice while everyone else has to suffer. we hope that whomever has any knowledge of this case will come forward to the police. It is hard for these kinds of people, the ones who harm others, to keep there mouth shut.

Teen missing for two years

The StarPhoenix August 27, 2009

Police are renewing their call for information from the public about missing teen Katelyn Noble on the second anniversary of her disappearance.

Originally from Mission, B.C., Noble was 16 on Aug. 26, 2007 when she went missing. She had been living on a farm just west of Radisson with her boyfriend.

An RCMP historical case unit conducted at least seven searches of farm yards in the Radisson area, which included search and rescue teams on foot, quads, air searches, police dogs and an underwater recovery team.

Officers have conducted numerous interviews, but are still looking for new leads.

Noble had been in contact with friends and family in B.C. until she went missing, when contact ceased.

Police say Noble is about 5-foot-6 and weighs about 125 pounds. Her natural hair colour is brown, but in August 2007, it was bleached blonde. She has blue eyes and a visible mole on her left cheek.

Anyone with information about Noble's disappearance or whereabouts is asked to contact the Regina historical case unit at 306-780-5582, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), dial *8477 on SaskTel Mobility or send a text to CRIMES (274637) containing the text TIP206 plus your tip. Tips can also be submitted online at www.saskcrimestoppers.com.

Hello everything, this is a horrible tragedy. It's been three years now and it appears hope is fading. My best thoughts and wishes are with the family going through this horrible time. Does anyone know or can think of any sociological, psychological or anthropological reasons for her disappearance. Obviously drug habits were a factor, the unstable family, her desire to be closer with her father. This would be a big help. Thanks. Again, my prayers go to her family.

I happen to be in Radisson on Friday and thought about this case. Small towns are bad places to keep secrets like this, so the sad thing is, if no one has heard from her in 3 yeasr, it does not look good. I understand she might ahve left town, but you'd think someone would have herd from her. I wonder about that boyfriend.

If anyone has an update, please let us know.

I have been unsuccessful in finding any kind of update on Katelyn's disappearance.
I'm posting this information as a reminder that Katelyn is still missing.

Katelyn Marie Noble was last seen in the Radisson, Saskatchewan district in mid August, 2007.  Katelyn has had no contact with her family or friends in Mission, British Columbia and her whereabouts are unknown.

Katelyn was born April 4, 1992, is a caucasian female, 5'7" tall, 126 lbs, light brown (bleached blonde) hair, blue eyes and has a very visible mole on her left cheek.

Husband, 2 others charged in Surrey murder
By: ctvbc.ca

Date: Monday Jan. 24, 2011 7:03 PM PT

The husband of a Surrey, B.C. mother found slain four years ago has been charged with first-degree murder, along with two others.

Amanpreet Kaur Bahia, 33, was found face down in a pool of blood in her home on Feb. 7, 2007. One of her three young children was found crying next to her body.

On Monday, RCMP announced charges against the victim's husband Baljinder Singh Bahia, 41, Surrey realtor Tanpreet Kaur Athwal, 42, and Burnaby resident Eduard Viktorovitch Baranec, 33.

RCMP E Division spokesperson Cpl. Annie Linteau said Baranec is known to police and all three suspects are known to each other. Athwal was working as a realtor for Century 21 as recent as a year ago.

Linteau could not confirm the cause of Bahia's death, but described the crime scene as "gruesome and horrific."

"Amanpreet was the mother of three young daughters, age one three and nine. Most disturbing is that Amanpreeet's two young daughters were left to fend for themselves for more than three hours until their mother's body was discovered," Linteau told reporters at a press conference Monday afternoon.

Bahia's cousin Harpal Sandhu gave a tearful statement to reporters, expressing gratitude to police for their work in the investigation.

"I don't know how to say thank you, thank you so much. Now my sisters will maybe have a little peace," she said. "I just pray for you guys that you are successful on this case."

Sandhu recalled the strain put on her family by some in the community who doubted a murder had even occurred. "We can't stay in the temple because everybody [is] blaming us," she said.

Police say the husband had been identified as a suspect in Bahia's death for some time.

A crack in the case

B.C. homicide investigators got a crack in the years-old case in December after receiving fresh information from Mounties working on a cold case file in Saskatchewan.

Investigators there were probing the disappearance of 15-year-old Katelyn Noble when they found a piece of information that led to the Bahia charges.

Noble had moved from Mission, B.C. to Regina in 2007.

"Now we continue on with our investigation here and whether there is a connection between the two. Our members are going to work very closely with E Division members as well and that's how incidents like this get solved," Sgt. Paul Dawson told CTV News from Saskatchewan.

Noble's father told CTV News that at one point his daughter and a former boyfriend were living with Baranec in Saskatchewan.

No charges have been laid in her disappearance.

More Indo-Canadian women murdered

Bahia's death received a great deal of community attention given that hers was the third violent death of an Indo-Canadian woman in the Vancouver area within a few months.

In October 2006, the burned body of Manjit Panghali was found in suburban Delta. She was four months pregnant at the time of her death, which according to pathologists was caused by strangulation. Although there were no suspects immediately after her death, Mukhtiar Panghali, her husband, has since been charged with second-degree murder. His trial wrapped up in December last year no verdict has yet been released.

A few days later, Navreet Waraich, who was 23-years old at the time and mother of a four-month-old boy, was stabbed in her basement suite and died later in hospital. Her husband, Jatinder Waraich, was found guilty in June 2008 of second-degree murder.

In the same month, Gurjeet Kaur Ghuman, a nurse from Coquitlam, was riding in a car with her estranged husband, Paramjit Singh Ghuman, when he shot her in the head before killing himself.

The deaths stunned the Indo-Canadian community who held several meetings to discuss domestic violence.

A Mission man is hopeful one of the arrests in the Bahia murder will spark new life into the case of his missing daughter.

15-year-old Katelyn Noble was last seen in Radisson, Saskatchewan in August of 2007, after running away with her 35-year-old boyfriend.

Doug Noble says the couple ended up living with Eduard Baranec, who's now in police custody. "Right now I'm a little short of breath...my heart is beating...there's not a lot that's happening in my daughter's file in particular."

Noble says he is trying to hang onto hope his daughter is still alive.

This post is written by Katelyn's mom. In it she mentions her ex-husband, so doesn't look like the parents were together at that time. She mentions the police coming to BC. So it sounds like she was in BC then.

The father is in B.C still however I am not sure where the mother is.  Sometimes it is easier after all this time not to explain that you have a daughter just so that noone either feels sorry for your situation or explaining it to people who are only prying for information.

It is on Hwy 340 northwest of Radisson maybe 6 miles from Radisson.  I believe that is where Baranec lived.  Nobody has lived there since

RCMP search of Radisson-area property connected to missing Katelyn Noble

Based on a news tip, News Talk Radio has learned RCMP have recently searched a property north of Radisson in relation to the case of a missing girl.
It's a case that has remained unsolved for the last three and a half years. A 15-year-old girl from British Columbia was last seen at a home near the same town back in the summer of 2007. Sgt. Paul Dawson says the RCMP believe foul play was involved in the disappeared of Katelyn Noble.

RCMP have searched a rural property north of Radisson, Saskatchewan in hopes of finding an answer into the disappearance of 15-year-old Katelyn Noble.

Sgt. Paul Dawson with Saskatchewan’s ‘F’ division says a search warrant was executed on the property by the Historical Cases Unit on February 2nd and 3rd in relation to the case. The teen girl from BC was last seen at a home in the Radisson area in August, 2007.

The man she was believed to be living with at the time, Eduard Baranec, was one of three people charged last month with the February, 2007 stabbing death of 33-year-old Amanpreet Bahia in Surrey, B.C.

RCMP search Sask. home in 2007 case of missing B.C. girl

By Hannah Scissons, Saskatoon StarPhoenixFebruary 7, 2011

SASKATOON — Investigators are making progress on the case of a missing B.C. teen who was last seen more than three years ago near the Saskatchewan community of Radisson.

Katelyn Noble, a 16-year-old from Mission, B.C., was living in the Radisson area when she went missing in August 2007.

But last week, the RCMP's historical-case unit conducted a search on a rural property north of Radisson after acting on new information, Sgt. Paul Dawson said Monday.

"I can't discuss or disclose any items that may have been located, but I can tell you that the investigators are satisfied with the progress of the overall investigation and the recent search," he said.

RCMP had previously conducted a series of searches of properties in the Radisson area — located about 65 kilometres northwest of Saskatoon — in the months following Noble's disappearance. Two weeks ago, the investigation into that case led to the arrest of three people in another case: the 2007 death of a woman in Surrey, B.C.

Amanpreet Kaur Bahia, 33, was found dead in her Surrey home by relatives who also lived there.

The common link in the two cases is Eduard Baranec, 33, who was living with Noble and her boyfriend before the teen went missing.

He was one of the three people arrested in connection with Bahia's death.

Noble's mother, Leona, has previously said the last person who saw her daughter was her teen's boyfriend, who said he saw Baranec kissing Noble.

Leona said the teen pushed the man away and "started running down the road." She was never seen again.

Prayers that the police soon find some information/evidence as to what happened with Katelyn!

That is so sad. It appears they know what happened. But at least they seem to know the approx area she is located. Mayfair is a small town, only about 30 people probably.

I hope the farmers in the area are searching.

Child Find Saskatchewan hopes for closure in the disappearance of Katelyn Noble
RCMP searching property in RM of Meeting Lake
Reported By Bre McAdam
Posted May 20, 2011 - 2:33pm

Child Find Saskatchewan (CFS) is happy to hear there's been some progress on an historical missing person case involving Katelyn Noble, who is originally from British Columbia but was last seen near Radisson in 2007 at the age of 16.

RCMP have begun searching a property in the RM of Meeting Lake near North Battleford.

CFS president Phyllis Hallatt says the organization has been involved since Noble went missing.

"And her picture's gone out to quite a wide variety of areas throughout Saskatchewan. Border crossings, customs, immigrations," said Hallatt, who adds there's only one thing they're hoping for now.

"Closure for the family in all cases so the family can start the healing process."

Hallett says they're providing support to Noble's mom Leona, who has flown to Saskatchewan from Mission, British Columbia for the search.

Updating

RCMP and forensic experts recently scoured an isolated, rural property in Saskatchewan in an effort to locate missing Mission teen Katelyn Noble.

Sgt. Paul Dawson, "F" Division spokesman, said the search took place last Monday and Tuesday but failed to uncover anything. The team plans to return as soon as weather allows, Dawson said.

"The weather didn't make for ideal conditions . . . but we still have work to be done at the location."

Katelyn's mother Leona Noble travelled out from Mission to be present for the search, but she returned home Friday.

"It's of great interest to her. It's her daughter," said Dawson.

"[Investigators] had reason to be there. They want to locate Katelyn and bring some closure to her family."

The site near Mayfair, Sask. is approximately 75 km north of the community of Radisson where the young woman was last seen before disappearing in August 2007.

The 15-year-old went missing after a confrontation between her 35-year-old boyfriend Greg Friend, alias Greg Laviolette, and his business partner Eduard Baranec.

No one has been charged in the disappearance of Katelyn, but the investigation of her disappearance resulted in Baranec being charged, along with two others, for the brutal slaying of a Surrey mom.

Amanpreet Bahia was murdered in her Newton basement suite on Feb. 7, 2007 while two of her three young girls were home.

Baranec, the alleged hitman for hire, was charged along with husband, Baljinder Bahia, as well as Surrey Realtor Tanpreet Athwal.

According to statements by Leona Noble, the last person to see Katelyn alive was her boyfriend.

He told the victim's mother he was outside and saw Baranec kissing Katelyn. She then pushed him away and ran down the road. Katelyn hasn't been seen since.

Katelyn met Friend while living in Mission with her father in 2006.

Dawson would not state whether Baranec or Friend were persons of interest in Katelyn's disappearance.

"All kinds of people have been spoken to during this [case]. It's not for me to discuss those matters at this stage of the investigation."

Since this case does not appear to be 'Cold' it makes me believe the police have plenty of evidence to process and are slowly building a case. It can take a long time, but I am certain they will be able to close this.

The only question is, will someone who might have had a small role in this case finally go to police and hope for a break, or will everyone wait until the day the police show up with handcuffs? At some point, one of them will crack and the others won't have any leverage left. I suspect one person might figure it be wise to be the first.

Title: Katelyn Noble Missing - Update October 2013
Post by: icefire on October 09, 2013, 11:14:53 AM

On September 27th-29th, 2013 there was another search for the missing teen, Katelyn Noble in the Radisson area.  About 12 to 20 volunteers joined in the search.  Although the search did not find anything, it made the public aware that Katelyn is not forgotten and the case is still active.  All the local news teams were onsite interviewing and filming volunteers.   Leona was out for the search and I had a chance to meet her.  She is a sweet lady but the toughest one I ever seen.  This is her third time she is out searching for answers.
She stated to a news reporter, "For those people who were involved in this, you picked on the wrong mama.  I will never quit looking"   That alone sparked a lot of likes and comments on Facebook.

Will this case be solved?  I asked the investigators this and they said that it will just a matter of time.  I feel that it will be solved soon.

More information, look up Katelyn Noble Missing Teen on Facebook.

Thanks for reading,

Hello HalifaxMother,

Thanks for your interest in Katelyn's case.  In the summer of 2013, Katelyn's mom returned to the small town of Radisson, SK to do yet a third search for her.  With a bunch of courageous volunteers, they set out to find anything relating to Katelyn.  The search found nothing.  The police did tell us that they know that Katelyn is deceased.  :(
Although the search last year did not find anything, the police did tell us that they had more information that was brought to their attention regarding Katelyn's disappearance. We are hoping that this case will be solved soon.

Hello :)  I too hope this case is solved soon, this girl was very young and the sad part is that it happens more often than we think. Nobody deserves the heart ache and pain from emptiness of not having your baby anymore and not knowing where she is makes it worse. Good luck on the next searches to come, someone knows something and in time it will come out and this little angel will be found and can be laid to rest.

It does seem rather odd the lack of information or pleas from the police lately, but I suspect they are still working on this waiting for the one tip that will break this open.

I hope that the person(s) who have wanted to contact police, but thus far have not, will have a change of heart.

Hi everyone, summer passed by still waiting. The body found near where Katelyn disappeared was a male. may he rest in peace....
Heard the trial for Amanpreet Bahia will start again in New Westminster September 12th, 2016 to continue for 25 days...they really are milking it these high and mighty lawyers and crown councilors, It could take us a lot less time. ok but the main thing is he; Eduard Barenic is going to be in prison for an awful long time (forever).
As soon as the trial is over they will charge him with the murder of Katelyn regardless of finding her remains. Then another crazy waiting game begins....
Just to clear things up I, Katelyn's mom live in Mission, divorced from the father in 2001, he got custody, because he was the main bread winner, ok fine I saw them every second week until my job at home depot interfered with that plan. The visits were scattered and short, she was introduced to bad drugs... I was unaware. Living with a father who works all the time has no time to supervise a teen girl....the nanny did her best....bless her.
Ed was a business partner of ****, Katelyn and **** may have had a great distance in their ages but they loved each other....don't be so surprised

Formal 1st degree murder charges finally laid.

The RCMP historical crimes unit has cracked an 11-year-old case.

On Tuesday an arrest was made and charges were laid in the death of Katelyn Marie Noble, according to a police news release.

Katelyn was 15-years-old when she disappeared from the Radisson area in 2007. The 11 year-long search spanned the country from Ontario to British Columbia.

Eduard Viktorovit Baranec, 41, was arrested at a federal prison in B.C. where he is serving time on another matter. He was charged with first degree murder and indignity to a human body. He is a convicted hit man, hired more than a decade ago by a B.C. man to kill his wife.

Baranec knew Katelyn and her boyfriend and the three operated a grow-op in the house she lived in, RCMP say.

Investigators hope the arrest and charging of Baranec begin to provide Katelyn’s family with some measure of comfort, RCMP say.

He made his first court appearance by video Wednesday morning at Saskatoon Provincial Court.

He is scheduled to be back at court October 16.
