I can't imagine how much more awful it must be to not know your child's fate.  Whether they were safely in God's arms or in pain or simply afraid and lonely for their family.

There was a lot going on around the time of Tanya's disappearance.  I can't remember the names, but, I think that desespere might have missed a few, including the case of Corinne "Punky" Gustavson in Sept of 92.  Somewhere in this same time frame I remember a young boy being abducted while on a picnic with his family at Elk Island Park, a half hour out of Edmonton.  I don't recall any conclusion to that particular case.

I remember that little boy and how it ended.  I was so sad.  Can't remember the boys name though.

How did it end for that little boy? I have no information about an unsolved murder of a little boy from Elk Island Park and have not seen any information about that. Would you please let me know Crafty, all of us, what this little boy's fate was?

I haven't been able to find out any more information.  If I remember correctly, it was the same year as Tania went missing, in the summer time.  The family had been camping near one of the lakes.  The child went missing from the campground.  His body was found in or near a lake not far from the campground.  I can't remember if the death had been ruled accidental or a murder.  I know there had been a huge investigation into the death and into the disappearance.

Here is a map of the Elk Island National Park.

I love camping at the park, however I feel an oppressive spirit around the park.  It can be very creepy at night.

Thank you Crafty, I don't think this little boy's death is being investigated by the RCMP as an unsolved murder. Would be verygood if the Edmonton Journal had an online archive so we could get more information. I don't think Edmonton Journal has archived newspapers online, even with a paid membership. Sometimes, the only way to get any information about anything is through archived newspapers and in Edmonton, one has to go to the library to get anything.

Yeah I wish the alberta papers had an archive.

There are some alberta newspapers that have an archive from the 80's here:

You are welcome Des.  I find it difficult to find anything before the '90s in Alberta.  Sometimes I wonder if it is because of the redneck attitude here.

If my recall is correct, I think it took months to find his little body. I think they said swamp area. Am unsure if foul play was involved.

Georgette Flint's body was also found there, in 1988. I went to the site. But I haven't camped there. I would probably find it spooky...

Adrian it is spooky.  I think if a person is sensitive to souls that have died unexpectedly or are just really intuitive can pickup on things.  Last year, I went out to Vancouver and dropped by the Farm.  It had a chain link fence and a very deep oppression to it.  I hope that something can be done with the land that will honor the lives of the women who last their lives there.  I don't hink it is a wise idea to build condos or anything similar there.

I agree with you Crafty. I don't believe anything should be built there for many years to come. I once suggested a nice park with benches and a plaque to honour the murdered women but I believe Pickton's brother and sister are too selfish to consider that idea.

I agree with you there...as for Elk Island Park, I am wondering if there is something that we could do to honor all that have lost their lives there.  I have felt the oppression there and wonder if there is more going on than we know about.

Brianna Torvalson was killed and her body dropped off near Elk Island Park. I think it was Feb.21st of 2008. Both Laboucan and Svekla were in jail. There is still a killer roaming around, and boy, does he know that area, and the Sherwood Park Area.

I would never, ever live on land the Pickton's owned. That land is full of depravity, and death. Who would buy a house or condo there???

Sorry of disruption of this thread. :( :( :(

This archived news article, however brief, says the police are investigating a tip that a middle-aged woman was seen dragging a child down the street at about the time Tania disappeared.

The news article link isn't working. Is that the Edmonton police service who are looking at this tip?
Is this a new tip, or something they found in the cold case file?

I heard at a 'child find' booth at Canadian tire store (Ottawa area) the other day, that the suspect is pretty much known from profiling.

Thanks

jason

I'm sorry, I might have posted the search link, I'll see if I can find the article again.

But I am very, very curious what you mean about they know who the suspect is by profiling? Is there something you are willing to share about what you know of the profile? Thank you.
