Lynda White - Burlington, ON - Murdered - 1968

 1968 ? Lynda White, 19, of Burlington, was a student at the University of
Western Ontario who disappeared after writing a French exam on Nov. 13. Her
remains were found five years later in a shallow grave near St. Williams in
Norfolk County. No clothing was found and police were unable to determine the
cause of death.

In 1968 I was working for Mid-north engineering a company owned by Lynda's uncle Arthur and her father Jack. I remember the day of her disappearance so well.  The anguish it caused her family and friends.  I often think of her, and wonder why her murder was not solved.  She just seemed to disappear.  The efforts put forth by her family to find her were tremendous, but to no avail.  Just passing on my regards to her family.

It is suspected that a brother of one of Lyndas roommates may have been involved in her death.

I don't know, telling someone who reads this board information about this murder isn't going to get anyone arreset unless the police are told the information.

Anyone with any information that is able to solve these matters should definitely call crime stoppers or notify the police personally.  If you do not want your name or number to be known you can always get in touch with CS because they don't want a name, they only want your information. Think of it as if it was your sister or brother or family member and do not hesitate to contact the authorities. It does not give particulars as to what she did after the exam. Who was with her or what her plans were. More information should be noted to the public and let the chips fall. It is time for the public to know more and maybe it could be solved. This is a long time for this to go on with no clues.

There was a tiny bit of information found on websleuth's.com indicating that two years before Lynda's body was found in 1973, that her wallet, containing her driver's license was found on June 25th 1971 by a construction worker digging a factory foundation.  This was in Burlington, whereas her body, as noted elsewhere was found near Simcoe.   Quite odd.

There are a few other jots & threads regarding this case, including some information from a fellow student and friend of Lynda's at UWO,  mixed in with the posts for Jacqueline English (London, Ontario).  I guess because she was last seen in London the potential linkages to other women abducted in London at this time are relevant.
