is anyone aware if Jennifer Cusworth was Aboriginal.  I know that there were traditional healing ceremonies done for her family.

Thanks

Has anyone heard of the possible link between Casey Bohum's (Spelling?) and Michael Dunahee's disappearances? If so, could anyone shed some light on that???

An "independant" review of this murder has finally produced a report.
http://www.castanet.net/edition/news-story-34465--search.htm

The DNA aspects of the case are front and center..The term, enhanced DNA is being used.
Quote
Parmar says Farrell did ask him to revisit certain people that need to be questioned again and to look at using better technology that wasn't available 14 years ago including enhanced DNA testing.

The report concentrates on persons attending a party, but no mention of investigating neighbors including MUrrin.

headline from Kelowna news:
Cops say they know who killed Cusworth

Police claim new DNA may be the key to solving the case.

Quote
New DNA evidence has surfaced in the death of Jennifer Cusworth, Kelowna’s longest-running murder investigation.

Investigator Cpl. Bill Parmar said a dedicated team of investigators have found that the DNA of a man discovered at the crime scene belongs to Jennifer’s killer.

Parmar said no identity has yet been connected to the DNA sample, but investigators feel it is just a matter of time.

D1; let's hope this pans out; I just said a silent prayer for this to result in the arrest and conviction of the right person  - and a bit of peace and closure to that broken family. (I hope other hearts unite in this wish and hope.)

right on D1 ......
Quote
Sources claim that Murrin was staying at a residence located only one block away from where Jennifer was last seen alive. The map shows how close Murrin was supposedly staying to where Jennifer was last seen. The rooming house at 911 Borden had a small upper room with a private entrance.

....for those of us who believe "a picture says a thousand words"... take a look at the eerie face on the upper right corner of upper pane of the first floor window.... hope Sleuth see this!

I wish Nancy (Adrian) were around to see this.  She always had hopes we could eventually revel over the concept that solving hundreds of these murders could be as simple as comparing DNA from the victims or relatives to DNA samples already in a data base and DNA samples yet to come.... and of course, DNA must be better safeguarded at murder sites.
We still have to cringe, however, at the fact that there are those protected murders whose DNA will be protected as well as their furocious acts.  Therefore it all boils down to authorities and what they will or won't do!
I hope this arrest turns out to be the right person...and they get what's coming to them.... BigTime!  >:( >:( Then we can say with confidence: "one more for the good side."

Yes this is great news..Lost. we both know that the potential exists for some really funny business to take place in cases like this. Hopefully that isn't going on but we will have to watch closely. This could end up being one of the most educational of cold cases to be solved. Fingers crossed..stay tuned..

This is how it begins- ..new DNA is found..

if only we were privy to the facts!.... from the update, one has to wonder was the crime "in the making" earlier at the party and amid the group? or was it a crime of opportunity because she was alone outside the building afterwards?  maybe walking alone afterwards? ....and was the opportunity that of one of the group? or a whoever came upon her? ...maybe even watching the activity unfold from nearby.
Guess it hinges on DNA now.
Not hard to get DNA...watching crime shows, enterprising detectives watch for the opportunity ....like when a poi is throwing away a cigarette or just finished coffee or food, etc.  Hope there's a good detective involved here.
Bless this girls family! :'(
