I personally feel they (the police) should talk to her twin. Twins have a connection that isn't always understood by others but there has been so many stories where twins have felt the others pain. A case in point: Brandon Crisp. I'm sure Amber's twin is either having nightmares or visions of strange places, men or whatnot. Listen up police: Talk to the twin.

I guess I missed that information Mauve, she has a twin???Well, you are right on there, the twin must be having some dreams or visions or feelings of what has happened to her sister. Great idea, I do hope they get something soon, time is slipping by with no information. Her people must be very upset on no news on her whereabouts. ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

Her name is Ashley. I can't remember if I saw it on Ambers facebook group or one of the stories when I googled.

I do not understand the Police. I guess they could know who these guys are and have questioned them, but I think it would be good to see their faces anyway.

The night McFarland went missing
Updated: Sat Feb. 07 2009 11:21:08

Newly released security camera footage shows 24-year-old Amber McFarland leaving a Portage la Prairie beer vendor with two men the night she went missing.

It is a new twist in the story.

Since she went missing Oct.18, 2008, McFarland's family had said she left the bar with a former boyfriend, but the video shows there were two men.

McFarland seems at ease with the men in the video. At one point the three embrace and appear to share a laugh.

Investigators have identified and questioned the two men, but say they do not have a clear picture of what happened next.

"Those same two people that she attended the bar with are the same two people she left the bar with," Const. Dino Bairos told CTV News.

"As far as us being able to trace where she went after she left the bar, that's where the investigation comes to a stop, and we're trying to determine what happens after this."

McFarland's family hopes the video generates new leads. They believe someone in the community knows what happened.

They are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

A very dangerous thing to do, go drinking after the bar closes with men, especially if she did not know them. This would be dangerous anyway, because they possibly had way too much to drink. The faces of these men were blurred, so how can anybody know if you know them. Why weren't their faces shown. I looked at the video and the faces are blurred. Can the police put their faces on Television country wide and ask these men to come forward. The crime will never be solved unless these men are identified. She may have met these men over the course of the evening and felt that she knew them. One could have been her boyfriend and a friend of his. This is certainly a great help. But what kind of vehicle did they get in. Was that video on the outside of the beer store. A great lead for investigators, but they must follow it up and put it on the front burner. ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

From the sounds of it the Allow bars in Manitoba to film the off-sales areas of the bars. I don't think the bars would get much business if they filmed the whole bar all night. I believe that some may even have a seperate area or room to buy the off-sales which is what this looks like with the brighter lighting. Could have been after the lights up time also.

And I agree on the face blurrs. Form above I believe one man was identified and questioned but the other is still unaccounted for as well as her. To would be nice to identify him by something other that a t-shirt.

Well, I am kind of not getting this. It sure looks like they were all together. If one was identified, he should know who the other party was. He also should know if Amber got left with one man and left with the both of them. I didn't realize that this was beer taken from the same bar. We don't have that here in N.S. I really feel that these men know what happened to her and I hope the police get some answers. ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

Do you know what I find extremely odd? The fact that when Jennifer Catcheway was last seen, it was also with two men and then both girls disappear from the same area within months of each other? Coincidence...I think not.

Really, that is very strange that the two of them have the same scenario and were never seen again. Scary for sure.  ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

I'm not sure if the video and information in the article shows one of the men is Amber's boyfriend. I would venture the man in the leather jacket is her boyfriend, if one of the two is her boyfriend.

The one in the sweater appears older, I think his hair might be balding on top. Also the hug the three shared appeared more forced by the older man. The leather jacket man immediately looked at his watch and did not move into an embrace at all. Then he backed up as the leather jacket man paid for the beer. All he did was stand there and look at a piece of paper. Strange. Amber emptied her purse looking for something even though it was evident the leather jacket man was paying for the beer.

Why are the face blurred indeed?

I also suspect the beer vendor is part of the bar. This is because Amber and the older man were not wearing jackets in the vendor area. I wonder if they checked their jackets or just didn't have them with them. I wonder if Amber's coat was in her car? Also, I checked the temperature and the coldest it was on October 17 was minus 5 celsius and high of 13. It is conceivable one would leave their jacket in their car if the temperature was fairly warm. The next day October 18 was way warmer; plus 16 high and plus 5 as the low.

Well it was October, so it wouldn't have been so cold not to go in the bar without your coat on. I do feel that the man that put his arm around Amber was someone who felt like he was in control, like he knew her. The other man they could have just met there and you know how people are when drinking, everybody is a good old friend. I hope the police have identified all these people there. ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

Why indeed! are the faces blocked in that video.  What I see in that video is two guys operating together.... befriend a girl ....all the usual drunked up actions....arms around someone you wouldn't even speak to in the supermarket.  This reeks of the typical bar pickup.  ...dance with a girl, talk real friendly with her, feed her lots to drink (if she goes to the ladie's room, make sure you put another full one in front of her for when she sits back down).
God knows what else gets put in these girls drinks.
You don't have to be psychic to see what goes down;  pick a girl - make her think she's the best thing in the place - fix up her drink - poof! the girl thinks she's with "the best" ....these guys are part of what happened to that girl ...nobody can tell me different.  I hope her family get to the bottom of this because authorities couldn't care less.... they pick and choose who they help!

Lost, you feel the same as I do. I just feel the way this guy put his arm around Amber, he was going to be with her for sure. She definitely was going to be in his company, because like you say, he seemed to be very cosy with her. The police have to keep these guys in their sights and they should not be allowed to leave town until this investigation done in great detail. Hope that her family stay on this and keep this in the limelight and get some answers. Time is slipping by, we are into the fourth month now. Something has to be done or this case is going to be another cold case. 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

cape; the way I see society now, if something like this happens, if it is a person who has position in society, political pull, money for private detectives, or something on the cops, then that case gets priority.
On the other hand, if many of us on here are correct in our assumptions based on endless cases of young and attractive people going missing, - well consider the power these body trafficers have; consider their affiliations, consider the quiet white-collared types who could be at the top of the chain.  Then consider how little gets done when these disappearances happen.  I mean we got more action out of police when they were working foot patrol and had no budget and no technology.  There's way too many people going missing and way too little reaction every time.  I hate to say it but the public got their heads in the sand so far that it's only going to get worse.  The authorities have too much control.  They can do what they want - and not do what they want.  I really believe we have reached a point in time when the only ones who are going to help in these cases are family members and caring friends. imo

This is right, you know all these young people missing and after just going out for the evening for a little fun. The police have to get a new system in place to solve these cases. There should not be any dragging the feet at all when someone is reported missing. Now they have a real concrete lead to Amber's disappearance, two individuals on video and I am sure by now they know who they are. I really hope something happens soon. ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???
