This is Derek's sister.

Derek has been "missing" now for 1 year, 7 months and 13 days.

Derek was a son, a brother, an uncle, a brother-in-law, a grandson & a loyal friend.

D is missed very much and my family would like to know What happened up in Bridge Lake on that New Years Eve / New Years Day ?!?

The RCMP from the North District Major Crime Unit are investigating and you can call Cpl Lorne Wood at the following two telephone numbers  work: 1 (250) 649 3924   or    cell: 1 (250)649-3924

You can also call CrimeStoppers at 1 (800) 222 - TIPS (8477)

It has been too long, someone has information , what have you heard from him/her/them ?

Please help the investigation.  Please help get Derek's body home to us.

My prayers go out to any of you who have lost a loved one , do not give up hope and keep the faith as it doesn't matter if it's 1 more day, 1 more month or 1 more year .... answers will come, the truth will come.

Thanks,
Leeanne
Derek's sister

The Kelly Family Will Not Give Up Looking For Answers & Justice !!!!!

This is a message for those who are responsible for Derek's death.  You all know what you did , what roll you had in the event, the roll you had after the event , and the roll you have had in assisting the obstruction of justice.  YES, you do.  Do not kid yourself for a moment if you think that what you did to my brother will just go by unnoticed and unaccounted for.  My brother Derek was a human being, a handsome living and breathing man who was full of life, full of contagious smiles and laughs.

He was a man, he had his share of ups and downs, he had his share of sadness and of happiness, it's life.  He made mistakes, and he made large strides.  He was so young.

He was full of life when I last saw him.  He was so full of life when he hugged my son, hugged me and then walked away in the snow into 'Her' Jeep. December 27th, 2007 will forever be a happy memory for me.  He loved me, he knew I loved him.

He was happy, so very happy. Sadly, he was happy with 'her'.

I can't imagine what a horrible human being you are, yes YOU/HIM, YOU/HER, YOU/THEM !  All of you who were at the cabin in Bridge Lake.

I can't imagine your world where YOU hide and run from what's right.  I can't imagine a world without a conscience.  I can't imagine what a hell YOU live in, I can't imagine when YOU  close your eyes what YOU  see when Derek comes into your mind. I can't imagine living a life of pretend, of talking myself into believing that it didn't happen, IT SURE DID !!! A life of lies.  A life of teaching YOUR children to keep quiet, teaching YOUR children wrong. A life of running away from 'home'.  A life in Mexico where YOU are not held responsible or accountable. Yet, YOU/HIM, YOU/HER , YOU/THEM , YOU all live these lives.

I CAN  imagine my life.  I CAN imagine a life where I do not give up.  A life where I keep Derek's story in the public eyes.  I CAN imagine that my mom and dad , my family will get our Derek's remains.  I CAN imagine the RCMP from the North District Major Crimes Unit working this case with every tool they can. I CAN see the RCMP work this homicide with all the passion they would if it were their own loved one, their own child, their own brother.  I CAN imagine that when the facts of the case are all in a row, that Crown Council will proceed, I can imagine cold metal handcuffs on each of your wrists.  I CAN imagine a day in court, where I look each one of YOU, yes, YOU/HIM, YOU/HER. YOU/THEM. I WILL  look you each in the eye and see justice for my babe, my brother D.

I know that I am not going anywhere.  I know that there are MANY people who loved Derek.  I know that there are MANY people who do not know Derek but are supportive of justice. I know that no matter 1 day, 1 week, 1 month , 1 year or many more years that Derek did not take his last breath in vain.

My dad always told us that 'success comes in can's , not in cant's ' - my world is of CAN'S.  My world is of faith & hope in what is right.

I will say thank you for all of you who have provided support and prayers, keep them coming !

D's sister,
Leeanne
