It does not matter how slowly you go, as long as you do not stop. We won't stop.

Good qoute. Further proof that things are getting better is that the media is finally paying some attention. Even 3 years ago, a murder of a STW would be in the news on page 14 after reporting a Brad Pitt sighting in Toronto or something like that.

I was reading about the coal\railway workers in the early 1880's. They spent there whole life working on improving there lot and it was never achieved until they had passed on. But they did it anyway.

ANOTHER CAT MUTILATION::

By NICKI THOMAS, SUN MEDIA

Hugh Hoyle holds a tiny urn which contains the remains of his cat Felix which he found dead near his west Edmonton home on 148 Street and 90 Avenue. (Jordan Verlage/Special to the Sun)
Just days before cat lovers converge on the city, the body of a mutilated feline was found in a west-end schoolyard.

?It?s absolutely terrible,? said Kathy Byram, president of the Edmonton Cat Fanciers Club, which is hosting its biannual cat show this weekend at the Shaw Conference Centre.

Hundreds of pet owners come from across North America for the two-day competition and news that another cat has been killed in the city doesn?t sit well with those that love them.

?I truly cannot imagine what?s going through the heads of the people that are behaving that way. It just doesn?t compute for me at all,? Byram said.

Last summer, a feline task force composed of city police, RCMP and provincial enforcement officials was struck after a series of disturbing cat deaths caused by humans.

On Wednesday morning, police were called to Parkview Elementary and Junior High School at 14313 92 Ave. after students found the body of a black and white cat that appeared to have been cut in half and disembowelled.

EPS spokesman Patrycia Chalupczynska said the incident is still being investigated and added that it hasn?t been confirmed whether the cat was killed by a human or attacked by another animal.

Steven McLean, 14, a student in Grade 9, said he arrived at 8:30 a.m. and heard about the cat from a friend.

?When I first saw it, I didn?t know what it was,? he said. ?I rolled it over to see what it was and I could see that it was cut clean. I thought it couldn?t have been attacked by another animal.?

McLean added that a friend of his spotted a pair of scissors nearby where the cat was found.

Barb Hoyle, 65, and her husband, Hugh, 72, live just blocks away from Parkview School.

Two weeks ago, their cat, Felix, went missing. The next day, Hugh found the front half of Felix?s body in a field near 147 Street and 90 Avenue.

Hugh said they figured coyotes had killed Felix but are now suspicious that he fell victim to another kind of predator.

?Now I think, if that?s the other half of him, somebody did him in,? he said.

The Edmonton Humane Society reminded pet owners to protect their cats by keeping them indoors.

PS: Was this before or after the Brianna slaying? Plus the gal from Hobbema, Roast.? Will check. It could be kids, but it also is one of the triages, for serial killers. The psycho ones.

YET ANOTHER MUTILATION:::

By BROOKES MERRITT AND DANIEL MACISAAC, SUN MEDIA

Alberta has experienced two more shocking cases of animal abuse involving cats - one very public and the other private - the latest in a string of incidents that have outraged animal rights groups.

On Saturday, Mounties cut down a dead cat that had been bound in wire and hanged by its neck from a lamppost outside a Fields store in Ponoka, about 100 km south of Edmonton.

POLICE ALERTED

Const. James Lai said a customer going into the store noticed the dead cat around 10 a.m. and alerted the store manager, who then called police.

He said the dark brown female tabby was suspended more than four metres from an arm normally used for hanging flower baskets.

Early indications are that the cat was alive when its neck was wrapped several times with wire and then hung.

"There was no other marks on the cat, nothing to indicate it was previously deceased before being put up there," Lai said.

He said the animal's body was stiff, suggesting it may have been hanged sometime between 1 a.m. and 8 a.m. Saturday.

FEW LEADS

Investigators are working on a few leads, but Lai is hoping tips from the public will help determine how the cat met its fate.

But it was abuse in the form of large-scale neglect that led animal-control officers and police to a house on 96 Street at 111 Avenue in Edmonton, also on Saturday.

There, officers discovered dozens of cats - both living and dead - crammed into the small bungalow.

Neighbours, including Marlene Perkins, told Sun Media that cops had taken away the resident, a middle-aged woman with a young daughter, while animal control officers removed at least 40 dead cats from the house, and from a freezer, in bags and perhaps more than 20 live ones in boxes.

Sgt. Guy Kinney said officers investigated after a neighbourhood girl reported a possible break-in to the garage behind the house.

He said the animals died of illnesses, and that the woman had put them in the freezer because she didn't know what else to do with them.

Another neighbour, who asked not to be named, blamed a combination of a marital break-up plus economic hardship for a situation she described as having "spiralled out of control" - with the cats inbreeding over a period of years.

NEIGHBOUR SPEAKS

The neighbour described the resident, whom she called "Tammy," as an otherwise good mother who had tried but failed to get help dealing with the animals.

"My heart goes out to her," she said. "She needs some counselling, I think, and she needs some kind of help."

News of the latest cat killing, the Ponoka hanging, sickened Tove Reece, director of Edmonton-based Voice For Animals, whose members have regularly protested outside a courthouse in Camrose, where four teens are accused of microwaving a cat named Princess.

"I don't know what is going on. There seems like there's an overwhelming number of cases," she said.

Edmonton Humane Society spokesman Diane Shannon said the Ponoka case reminded her of an Edmonton incident last August, when a cat was found dangling from the side view mirror of a car.

"It's always shocking and horrible to hear. You can't imagine what's going on inside individual or group of people's minds," she said.

Shannon said humane groups continue to funnel tips of cat abuse through to the Edmonton Police Service and St. Albert Mounties, who are heading up a task force.

BIZARRE CAT DEATH

In Edmonton, a bizarre cat death was discovered last Wednesday near a west-end school where a cat was found cut in half and disembowelled.

An attack by another animal has not been ruled out in that cat's death.

Salt Lake City had a string of cat mutilations in 2003. I'm not sure if they continue but as of June 26, 2003 they had 19 cat mutilations.

On the same day, over three days of the June 29, 2003 weekend, there were three more cat mutilations in Denver, bringing the total to 28 cat mutilated over the past year there.

Tuesday night, SpokAnimal CARE responded to yet another disturbing call from residents surrounding Albi Stadium. For the third time this month, the back half of a severed cat was found in their neighborhood.

SpokAnimal is very concerned about the nature of these cruel acts: they have no blood anywhere in or near the body, the bodies are strategically and methodically placed in the area that they've been found, and the cut is very clean, not torn as if an animal had caused the dismemberment.

Officials at SpokAnimal fear that these acts are somehow related to a cruel cult activity.

Angry Angry Angry Huh Huh Huh Huh Angry Angry Angry Angry WTF?Huh? AARRRGGGghhhhhh...

4 teens, kids, plead "NOT GUILTY" for microwaving cat!

 By NICKI THOMAS, SUN MEDIA

All four teenage boys accused of microwaving a cat to death in a horrific act of animal cruelty have pleaded not guilty.

It's alleged that the youths - three aged 15 and one aged 13 - broke into a Camrose home while the owners were away in late December and killed the cat, named Princess, by placing her in a microwave and turning it on.

They have been charged with break, enter and theft under $5,000, mischief under $5,000, possession of stolen property, unlawfully killing an animal and causing unnecessary pain and suffering to an animal.

A lawyer for two of the teens entered not guilty pleas on their behalf in a Camrose courtroom yesterday morning. Their trial has been set for Nov. 17.

The other two teens pleaded not guilty last month and will go to trial in June.

BACKLASH FIERCE

Backlash against the teens has been fierce since news of the grisly killing broke in early January.

Hate groups directed at the teens popped up on Facebook and were joined by thousands of people.

Some members made threats against the teens while others illegally published their identities, which are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

While fury from the online community has since subsided, the Edmonton-based animal rights group Voice for Animals has steadily followed the case, travelling to Camrose for every court proceeding.

Their courthouse protest yesterday came one day before the controversial federal crime Bill S-203 heads into its final reading in the House of Commons.

Voice for Animals director Tove Reece said the bill is just a rewrite of the current legislation, under which it's difficult to prosecute cruelty crimes.

According to the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies, less than 1% of animal abuse investigations lead to a conviction under the Criminal Code.

"There's essentially no changes from the bill that's already there, which is over 100 years old," she said.

"The only changes are the penalties.

"But when you can't charge or prosecute someone under the law, then what's the point of having higher penalties?" she said.

The Camrose incident is just one of a string of animal cruelty cases in Alberta in recent years.

CAT FOUND HANGED

Last weekend, a cat was found bound in wire and hanged by its neck from a lamppost outside a grocery store in Ponoka, about 100 km south of Edmonton.

RCMP have received a number of tips but have no suspects, Sgt. Glen Demere said yesterday, adding that no one has come forward to claim the cat.

"It's hard to say why there's been such a cluster of animal cruelty cases," said Reece.

"I have to think that to a certain extent it goes back to the fact that cruelty to animals is not viewed as being very serious in Canada.

"There's no repercussions for doing it and I think that plays a large part."

Except the cruelty such as is going on in Edmonton is indicative of a larger future problem.

I do know there was a juvenile about the age of 10-12 who was caught by police mutilating cats in about 2005. Because he was under age he couldn't be charged and was released back into the custody of his family. There was concern at the time that he would continue without therapy. To me, this boy might be the culprit.

Cat Mutilations + future SK's.
****************************************
With all the cat mutilations, that happenned last year in Edmonton, I think there was about a dozen.I am trying to find a link, to Edmonton cases.

You know, Des, there are often cult activities, when cats are being mutilated. These cats are not only killed or (sacrificed), to some strange power these people agree with, but is awful creepy, along with the human killings we have! The cutting up, and the wicked displays, are signs of a of a future Psycho, who may turn to humans.

Take the two, serial killers, hellbent on torture, or the cat mutilations, I wonder if there is a connection of any kind? These I always thought were the work of a sick, disturbed teenager. Can this person(s), and perhaps friends, be doing this to show there are other people who do bad things?

If a cult, activity, we are in trouble also, as these groups spread, indoctrinate, hold power and control over a person.Either way, we got a problem. Also a cult will likely grow to using humans, maybe some as being deemed "disposable"? Angry

I guess you all know where I am leading, and that is that there may be a cult connection, to some of these murders, in Alberta, and beyound.

The Book, By Maury Terry, opened my eyes, in the connections of cults, some leading to serial killers, it is called "THE ULTIMATE EVIL"

Reader that I am, have to confess this book scared the heebees outa me, by the end of the book, there were over 40= people dead, with ties to a cult called "The Process".Non FICTION>>>Please read it!

Kingston, ON has had three similar cat mutilations in less than a year. Two within four days of each other. The most recent one was found the morning of June 20. Full moon was June 18 (this date might be a little off it might have been the 20th)

The cats were definately cut in half across the torso by a human.

Another mutilated cat found
Police taking matter 'very seriously'
Posted By BY ROB TRIPP WHIG-STANDARD POLICE REPORTER
Posted 4 days ago (June 21)

Police are investigating a second discovery in four days of a cat that had been "surgically" cut in half.

"It's pretty gruesome," said Const. Nadine Legare, who had a veterinarian examine the remains found yesterday.

"It absolutely was not animal interference," she said. "It was definitely surgically cut and by surgically, I mean someone deliberately cut that cat."

Legare said a person walking a dog in Cataraqui Woods Park yesterday morning came across the remains of a grey-haired cat wearing a tealcoloured collar.

Only half the animal's body was found, part of the torso and the head. The bottom half had been severed, although it's not clear if the cat was dead when it was mutilated or if the cutting was the cause of death.

"It's exactly like the other one," Legare said.

On Tuesday morning, a woman walking her dog in a wooded area near Lancaster Drive Public School found the upper half of a dead cat. It also had been cut in half.

In that case, the owner of the cat reported the incident to police.

The owner of the cat found yesterday has not been identified.

Police have photographed both carcasses and have seized them.

Legare said they're trying to determine whether further forensic analysis can be done.

Portland, OR had at least three separate cat mutilations recently all of them found on the campus of Portland State University. Article mentions the link between this behaviour and violence against people.

The most recent one is about June 9.

There is often a prelude, to torturing, and killing cats, and they often escalate to killing humans. The same with all the arsons here, that is crazy, and happening all over. I still think cult activitie, or a child letting out what he has lived with. These killers often have families, children etc.., and some may have picked up on what was going on in their family so to speak. Huh Angry Angry Angry

There's so much going on in Edmonton, 40+ arsons, cat mutilations, serial killing, makes me think there's a big group, like SK university or something. It's crazy how bad it is in Edmonton.

Got you , Des!

Right now, I feel that Edmonton is TOXIC. The fires, the animal mutilations, and the raping and killing.

The conditions here, are so scary, that many people walk in pairs. Parking lots at stores, are also being targetted, and people have been knifed, for a smoke. Huh Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry
